Cut the Time/Religion plots that have both been done 5 times over
Cut the shitty character design
Find people that can write characters worth a damn
I have been trying to figure out the logic behind Tidus as a character, there is no redeeming factor to it. I can't even conceive of any saving grace he had within Japanese culture. It seems unfathomable as to why they would write such a character. It's like having Jar Jar binks as the protagonist of Star Wars. You do not give a damn about their opinions or feelings because they are so obnoxiously created.

Then, since it's literally the same game just continued after a fairly final ending, play something else.
The only way they could get me to play this is if Sazh is the protagonist.
He was the only likable character in that entire fucking mess of a game.
I only played FF VIII, was quite okay because the characters were older.

It just baffles me to such an extent. Why did they make a protagonist like that.
-There is absolutely no development arc where he becomes a better person.
-The reveal of his past does not redeem him in any way.
-Is Meg Ryan with less balls.
-Has no special purpose to their quest, (Final Golf Caddie X)
-Is purposefully written as an arrogant unlikeable dumbass
Its like they conceived of every angle at which one could be an idiot and carefully planned it so that in every single scene, he would be a total clown. I challenge any fan to name one scene where he said something insightful which assisted their quest.

Only final fantasy games I like is, 1, 2, 3 and the crystal chronicles series.
Personally i can't get on with the turn based system FF has, much prefer the tales of series.

Now there's a good series. FF was ok early on, but now it's just TURN BASED WITH A TWIST!
FFIX is my favorite.

IX was the best.
It's sad when the only new final fantasy games I've enjoyed recently are a fighting spin-off (Dissidia) and a handheld. The last actual flagship game I liked was XII. XIII was garbage and unless they change the battle system to something that doesn't completely suck and make the game something more than a fancy corridor they can go fuck themselves.
What ever happened to classes? Why can't they bring that back? Seems like the most effort went into the classic games...
