I haven't even beaten a main-series Final Fantasy game yet. (I beat Tactics Advance though.) Closest I got was twelve.
Nintendo childhood..
It started out on Nintendo.
No excuse!!!
Better leveling system and better battle system and I might even buy it. Not full priced, though.
I'm not expecting anything at all from the story. VII-X were all awesome, XII was okay, but goddamn, XIII's story was fucking horrible. Which is a shame, the world and the lore was interesting and had potential.

Well if they're games in the same series with incrementing numbers on the end, what the fuck else are we supposed to call them?

Jesus christ, the japs really eat this repetitive overrated shit up, don't they?

installment.
Sequel is something with an onrunning story. 13-2 = sequel. 14 = installment.
Can they just get on with Versus so I can get some KH gameplay on PS3?
I hope the game has less open spaces and more cutscenes. Thats what FF13 was lacking.
Kingdom hearts is the sign that they should just stop. The fanfiction run plot and the absolute bullshit that series crams out is simply mindboggling. One look at the entire plot of KH tells you that they lost their marbles so why are they even trying to do a serious plot.
Also for the record I despise kingdom hearts. HEY GUYS LETS GIVE THE MAIN CHARACTER NEW CLOTHES AND KEEP RENAMING HIM. NEW CHARACTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALSO THEY ARE ALL GAY BTW

They're using old outfits for the 3DS one lol

I saw a picture of that, thought it was just a remake of the first game

Reason that pisses me off isn't actually for the game itself but all the people I know who play it that talk as if it's some kind of 3D street fighter or MvC game, when it's just a single attack button and that's pretty much all it is.
Well that's kind of a lie, I get pissed at how you have about one combo throughout the entire game, yeah it gets longer the more you play but it's still the same damn button, magic outside of haste and cure are useless and alls you do is tap a single button to kill everything. In comparison I'd name it alongside dynasty warriors, only enemies look a bit different from time to time. Only reason I think KH gets a free pass from most people are because of the shiny lights that fly out of you as you mash, the fact that FF characters (and Disney to some) are in, and the game's fuckawful plot is run by the fans. Seriously, I'm fine if a few characters in your game are gay, but when the entire cast is making out with each other it's cringe worthy to even watch.
RIKUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU :,CCC
not true, the magic in the psp one is varied and incredibly useful. vital even.
you get your arse tanned if you try the bonus boss on any and expect button bashing to win it for you too
They turned micky, goofy and donald into something ridiculous.

I don't own a psp so never even tried it. Doesn't help I saw a billboard for it at a store
"Oh Sora or... Roxas or whatever is getting -another- prequel?"
"No that's a new character! -some stupid bullshit name- This time heartless get two forms to blahblahblah confusing plot nobody should understand suddenly everyone forever has like triple the amount of keyblades"
Which, sidetracking myself again, is something that always annoyed me that they made keyblades out to be such a big deal, first game even had your friends betray you because this legendary weapon was in someone elses hands. I liked the first game to a extent and found it clever, but in the second game guess what everyone with pointy hair has access to, even fucking disney characters. It's kind of the Super Sayin situation with DBZ "ONE PERSON EVERY 10,000 YEARS GOES SUPER SAYIN" next episode even the kids are doing it. Defeats the entire purpose.
Even worse is when I was looking into epic mickey I saw people thinking he originated from KH and were demanding they include his robes. "WHERE IS HIS ORGINIZATION OUTFIT THATS THE REAL MICKEY THIS IS A PIECE OF SHIT"
Buuut yeah, probably should stop talking about it as this is FF13-2's thread. I just have no hope for it (hurp) as the guys who wrote KH's "plot" and FF13 as a wholes story is behind it.
If it helps any (not that it does for me), the prequel was the original version of the character that Sora becomes or something like that, he dies, his heart reincarnates, and that's why he has the Keyblade. Essentially, only a couple of characters still alive in the KH series have the potential to wield the Keyblades - those with pure hearts (aka Mickey, Sora, Kairi, Aqua (one of the prequel characters), and Roxas who is technically part of Sora).
Too bad the series is a mess one way or another though.
On-topic, since everyone protests this sequel, what do you think SE's money would be better spent towards (besides KH3)?

From what I've seen, and I don't know it inside out, Ventus' heart lies dormant in Sora, and then when he changes himself into a Shadow (which creates Roxas, the nobody). Ventus' heart goes into him or influences how he looks, which is why he looks like Ven.
Also, Riku has the power to wield the Keyblade because Terra gives it to him. Aqua is trapped in the darkness but not dead. Roxas is dead afaik.
It's all fucking pointless shit tbh, Money is no object so I don't think cancelling this would help KH3 in anyway tbh.
I've played 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 10, 10-2 and honestly 4 and 8 are the best.

Also Chrono Trigger
Last game was like watching a movie.
and 8 are the best.
I sincerely hope you're joking. VIII was refuse and sludge kept together by the duct tape of incomprehensibility.
I sincerely hope you're joking. VIII was refuse and sludge kept together by the duct tape of incomprehensibility.
No VIII was pretty awesome.
The first one is the best one though.
People always argue between whether VII or VIII was better. VII was a revolutionary game of being the first major RPG in the 3D territory, but the age really shows and the story is arguable about quality. However, it's also Square's favorite game practically, as they constantly make more and more stuff over it. VIII on the other hand was more refined and of a higher quality in technical aspects - but the story was technically high-school mercenaries doing assassinations and saving the world through time travel that made little sense (even FF1 did the time travel better). For one reason or another, the game is a love-it-or-hate-it affair, but it works. Story-wise, however, compared to the earlier games of the series? Both are poor. Really poor.
The only reason i'll give any leeway to FF7 was because I grew up on it and because I never played FF8. But it sure is annoying that people argue about both of them all the time.
7 isn't Squares favourite game.
Square knows that you could sell a used condom if it said FF7 on it.
That's about all there is to it. In all the things I've ever seen that's been said by a Square-dev, from favourite designs to favourite music, 7 has never been the favourite.
Also, FF8 isn't about saving the world through time travel, nothing like that at all.
It's about stopping a Sorceress from the future from compressing all the "time zones" into a single time where she would be all powerful. You only travel through time once, and this is once you've figure out how to get to her time zone to stop her. It's not a time travel story in the sense of Chrono Trigger where you cavort through time and space fixing whats wrong and changing things for the better.
I don't think it makes little sense because the writing is poor, I just think you didn't understand it.
None of the PS1 FF's can hold a candle to Xenogears or Final Fantasy Tactics, as far as their PS1 games are concerned.
Waaaaay too late?
It's around 5 hours in at a slow pace.
You must have ADD.
It shouldn't take five hours for a game to stop sucking.
It shouldn't take five hours for a game to stop sucking.
Half-Life 1 had a lot of bad reviews when it first came out, and months later people realized how amazing the game was. I'd say that's more than 5 hours.
A main game sequel?
FUCK I WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD DANCING ONCE MORE
god, just do a VII Remake already.
It shouldn't take five hours for a game to stop sucking.
Because the beginning of the game is totally unbearable and it's not even playable until then.
=/
You're well within your rights to dislike a game, but you're talking as if it's absolute poison to play to begin with, which is bullshit.
Can't stand a game with an intro? go back to CoD.
IX was best final fantasy :downs:
[sp]I really liked it...[/sp]

5 hours is an intro? Hahahaha, no.
A game should introduce most of its combat elements within the first one or two hours. And yes, FF13 was complete ass until the combat system decided to not suck as much, and the game was still bad.
