The mods of RA2 were the best. Like what one of the poster's said, the most required mod for RA2 is none other than Mental Omega(balances the expansion since EA won't do it).
Still miss the amphibious transport, too bad they didn't make one that can shoot at people.

Tiberian Sun was my first RTS so it always holds that special place in my heart.
But RA2 was my second RTS, so it's also pretty important to me.

1) attack enemy base with large force
2) while enemy is distracted, send in boat/helicopter/bus full of engineers
3) capture every enemy building
4) sell buildings
5) profit (literally)

In all seriousness, though, Red Alert 2 got me into RTS gaming, which is my favourite genre ever.
I prefered Tiberian Sun though. It had a more intense atmosphere.

Holy shit I loved this game, I used to play with my friend on sleepover nights, he would get on my moms computer and I'd get on mine and we'd play LAN games together, shit was so awesome.
My dad has an obsession with Generals, he plays it every night. Downloads custom maps that are laggy simply because he already played the other ones and I don't even want to see his stats..

RA2 was the first game I bought with my own money, I went into the gamestore and despite being out less than a year at that point it was really cheap and so the only game I could afford
Best purchase I ever made until I bought The First Decade for the same price years later
Me and my friends still lan it all the time
Purple Alert. So many hours spent playing that mod. Red Alert 2 is truly one of the best games ever made.
