Racist, you kill black people in this game. Joking. I really want this, too bad my computer could never run it.
Am now officially psyched.
I watched the tech video of them making islands and stuff and this game looks really cool, something new.
If it has sandbox i must buy it.
It looked awesome when he/she removed the island(s) in the end of the tech demo
It looked awesome when he/she removed the island(s) in the end of the tech demo
When they lowered (sunk) it into the water? Yeah I got an erection when I first saw that.
If it has sandbox i must buy it.
Sandbox only I think
I came. Blood.
Sandbox only I think
So its like you get a kickass tribe that make freaking epic stuff for you and you just burn them to hell with a volcano? Oh god I must have this.
There are probably other tribes too.
I. Want. This. Baaaadddd.
That game looks godly. Can't wait.
lol
I heavily enjoyed Black And White, however it had compatibility issues with my system. This game looks awesome, plan on getting it. Hopefully it's optimized properly, looks beautiful. Probably going to be demanding :o
I love the music.
As it gets released on consoles too, it probably wont be any more demanding than any other recent game.
1) It could be a port (to PC) 2) Consoles have stronger than average CPUs. PS3 has 6 cores
Wait so will the humans be able to proceed through time?
Wait so will the humans be able to proceed through time?
Well, apparently a child becomes an adult in a lifespan of 7 minutes (or was that seconds?). So, i'd say each human would last about half an hour before dying.
Wait so will the humans be able to proceed through time?
I hope the game comes to Modernish times and doesn't JUST stick in that one Prehistoric Time Period for the entire thing. But as someone else said they only last about 30 minutes each. Poor pixels :(
Now this is something I can look forward to.
Having everyone have masks is awesome. It really goes with the impersonal feel, that humanity is more a faceless entity then a group. And they look badass.
Oh. My. God. I NEED this, I hope I can run it on my pc, if not then I will get it for my ps3.
I'm kind of liking how everyone is thinking unrealistically about what's going to be possible in this game they've already said there wont be RTS elements and the whole point of the game from the first trailer by the looks of it is to help the tribes master the elements to save themselves from destruction. Then you guys go on about evolving the tribes into hyper advanced war-faring civilizations hoping to rape the rest of the world, And jets and shit. I'm doubting it will have much mod potential gameplay wise and yes while it is a nice engine at the moment all we have seen of the engine itself is that its strongest part is the nature side of stuff, I'm expecting the AI for the tribes wont be too advanced but that doesn't matter as you're the one protecting them. I don't doubt that they said the first trailer was only in game footage but you can tell that the characters towards the end of the trailer were definitely scripted to do what they did for that one section. It's not going to be some hyper amazing AI game that some of you guys are hoping it might be where the characters and tribes evolve and start wars with each other that being said, I'm still looking forward to this and shall be getting it, should run nicely on my computer.
Imagine this, mixed with the older concept of spore?
:words:
The game is still in development and it's a while off. Anything is possible. Btw I'm not saying I expect space age and tanks. But villages and maybe even more modern (like 1860s modern. Maybe further back than that) would be nice. And if this is the spiritual successor to Populous, they have to have war.

I don't look at, for example, Minecraft, and say "Wow I bet he's going to make it so we can build tanks and modern weapons and build up fortifications and have huge wars with other players." Fortunately in this case i'm really excited for just what i've seen in the tech demo. Probably to the point i'll be a little disappointed but...not expecting anything like some people have been saying.
Whats the point of the game if all you do is create the planet? Is it too hard just to make it Populous + World building? This sounds more like a tech demo than a game tbh.
1) It could be a port (to PC) 2) Consoles have stronger than average CPUs. PS3 has 6 cores
The 360 has a crappy tri-core though, and they have said that the game will make use of multi-cores (so your quadcore or hexacore should be used to the fullest) and (in the PS3's case) SPUs (so it seems they aren't just going to port it to PC and PS3 from the 360). As for mod potential we won't really know until it's released. Except that maybe we will get wars between tribes, but yeah there won't be tanks or jets or starships or anything like that. [editline]08:29AM[/editline] Two new first impressions: http://kotaku.com/5617588/god-plays-ball-in-from-dust http://gamescom.gamespot.com/story/6273905/from-dust-first-impressions?tag=top_stories%3Btitle%3B3 It seems that there will be more powers than just lifting stuff (like freezing water), and there will be stuff hidden in the ground (so you can dig it out). [editline]08:33AM[/editline] Looks like the Tsunami has physics too (so if you feared it would be a scripted event without actual physics, fear not).
Nor do I EXPECT space age and tanks and all, but it would be very wise for the developers to up the modding potential to the highest level. The engine they've just created, from what I can see, is by far the most optimised game engine (that has water physics) yet. A godly game engine like this simple CANNOT go without modding, unless Ubisoft decides to pull off the "but tey pirat our gaem!11!" argument against modding again.

Yeah it definitely should be moddable, but there has been no word about it so far. Also they better use this engine, because limiting it to a single game would be extremely dumb (people go apeshit over physics and stuff, this engine could sell games only by having it's name on the box).
