I'm inclined to agree. Snake may sneak around in the shadows, and get into the odd scrap with a giant nuclear death tank, but freeman has fought entire armies of bad guys, an advanced alien civilization, an interdimentional human-harvesting death race
and all without being KO'd and having to use tomato ketchup to escape from a prison cell.

They're both awesome, as Gordon is supposed to be you (the reason he doesn't talk) while Snake is just overall pure badass due to killing his own father, battling nionjas and vampires, and turning a gay looking girl into a decent man (Raiden)
