We are above link in votes!
50.1 to 49.9!
or
The leaderboard doesn't refresh as fast the individual brawls.
They don't update the full bracket I guess because while the match page says (50.1 Freeman/49.9 Link) the bracket says (49.9 Freeman/50.1 Link)
GO FREEMAN!
Yes! Go the One Free Man!
This is more epic than the Snake battle.
Winning by 200 votes. fuck yeah, freeman.
Even if we do get past Link, Mario will get dominate Freeman.
50.2%!
I Hope we win, We might make 50 more people Buy half life.
There gonna lower the vote like they did last time, dont get worked up.
50.2%
We can do this.
Why does he have the Phys gun and not Gravity gun?
Organic gravity gun, bro.
We're up 50.1
50.2!
I'm thinking about posting this arguement:
As with most Nintendo heroes, the main plot line comes down to this: Important figurehead (Princesses mainly) gets kidnapped. Hero battles through many different worlds (instead of merely going straight there, because apparently, they were powerful enough to beat any other enemy except the final boss), collecting various powerups (many you only use in that level, or rarely, all the time) and then defeating the final boss to save said important figurehead. 1 year or so later, said important figurehead gets kidnapped again.
tl;dr: Nintendo rehashes the same story for a couple of their games.
Now, Half-Life is interesting. Yea, the hero is an everyday guy who probably is no different from you or me yet never talks. However, the story of this non-interesting guy who gets wrapped into having to save not only his facility and escape it, but also having to save the entire earth and an alien race, how is that not worthy or being deemed a hero? Valve set a new standard for story lines in games. No longer is it now an overall objective or goal, it's now a saga great games with sequels strive for.
tl;dr: Valve reinvented storytelling in games that have sequels.
Why should Gordon or Link have to talk? You fill in the words for them most of the time. However, with Link being 3rd person, you aren't exactly being head-on with your world whereas with Gordon, you experience everything he does through his eyes. That's something the Zelda games never offered.
Agrees or Disagrees influence whether or not I post it.
Edit: Posted argument, most people seem to understand it
can someone explain to me why half life is so fun?
NO, scratch that, tell me why FPS is so fun.
:ughh:
Gordon got 50.4%, then dropped by 0.1%.
Marios gonna win
The link fags are shitting up the comments again
Those Half-Life haters better prepare of unforeseen consequences.
LINK IS NOT A FREAKING GOBLIN. HE ALSO HAS MORE AND BETTER WEAPONS THEN A SWORD.
thinking that gordan freeman is god with a crowbar = plain stupid
Oh the humanity.
Gordon didn't needed a gazillion of gadgets to destroy a single boss.
Oh, and...
Maybe Gordon can't beat Ganon, but I highly doubt Link can destroy the Citadel's portal core thing at the end of Half-Life 2 and stop Dr Breen and his dastardly plan. So that void's your superiority claim.
YEAAAAH.
New effort:
Vote for Samus Aran in Samus Aran VS Mario
Clearly mario would win freeman vs mario.
Currently mario has 38k votes, gordon 33k.
There are three Nintendo characters in the finals for about 90000 votes between them.
If Gordon makes it to final round who are all those Nintendo fags gonna turn to? Mario of course.
Gordon 30000/Mario 90000 = Total slaughter
At lease we made it to 2nd, right?
I'll give you that
Fact:
Everybody who says that Half-Life didn't have at least a significant impact on the gaming community, let alone one comparable to Ocarina Of Time for the FPS genre, are completely talking out of their arse.
Half-Life was a completely revolutionary game for it's time, just like OOT was. I needn't go into detail about that.
But Half-Life had a sequel just as good, if not better.
The most OOT got was a cheap knock-off called Majora's mask, or a so-called "spiritual successor" called Twilight Princess. Neither got the praise anywhere as close as Ocarina of Time.
Half-life, on the other hand, has Half-Life 2 - as equally revolutionary and supreme as the first, as well as starting it's own series, which, get this:
Is actually still being worked on by Valve, it's developers.
Do you Nintendo fanboys honestly think the big N is going to make another game where Link truly has dignity and real heroism again? Nah, they're going to kick the dead horse while it twitches, and make more knock-offs.
Valve, on the other hand, is going to release HL2: episode three, soon, and it's going to be awesome. And where they can (and probably will) go from there, the possibilities are endless.

Some people don't seem to realize that this isn't about who can win in a fight; it's about who you think is a cooler hero.
Everybody knows the gun always beats the sword, anyway. Unless you're playing Devil May Cry.
That being said, I'm voting for my old man Gordon Freeman, who's games represent the last in truly artistic game design.
But the real point of this particular vote is - who will have the chance of losing against Mario? Because, as we all know, there's far too many immature fan boys in the industry now that anybody's going to vote for a hero that represents any maturity. If freeman loses before even making it to the finals, then the last bracket will be nothing but a flaming 9-12 year old scream-fest between two equally childish and irrelevant game heroes.
Keep in mind, I'm a long-true Zelda fan, but Link's recent games (especially the DS incarnations) have skewed my faith that Nintendo even has plans of making a game with the same dramatic emotion and artistic quality of Ocarina of Time. Twilight princess was a failed attempt to achieve that, as superb of a game as it was.
Go on, Freeman. If you lose against Mario, it's a very honorable loss. Nobody can compete with that many kids.
Then again, this whole vote is irrelevant to anything. It's not like these votes represent the majority of the international gaming community; it's just a silly marketing scheme sponsored by AT&T.

Same guy
Here's how i would imagine a battle against Gordon and link.
Link and Gordon walk in from both sides of the arena. They look at each other. Link Starts running towards Gordon, but Gordon takes out a Bugbait and throws it on link. Suddenly Antlions spawn out of the ground. Link takes his sword and starts chopping up the antlions one by one. Meanwhile Gordon finds Something that is loose on the wall or on the ground he can use. then proceeds to take his gravity gun out and rips a 6x6 tile off the wall. he launches it at link and link gets thrown back onto the ground. Antlions still proceed to attack link and bite into his flesh. Gordon walks up, takes out his pistol, aims it to his head, and pulls the trigger.
