Malz suffers symptoms of Urgot-itis
If you want a nuke assassin go Akali or Ryze. If you want a support go Sona or Soraka. If you want a pusher go Sivir or Morde.
Shen, Galio, Amumu and Rammus are all viable because they all fill different roles, even though they're all tanks. Malz can do many things but he's not terribly good at any of them, unless he's fed of course.

But he's not an assassin or support, and his only main pushing feature is his voidling, that is if you aren't playing AD Malzahar. Mazlahar is a caster, he's none of what you listed.
