As long as I'm not dying and scoring a kill every once and a while, I'm happy. Maybe I'll try buying Swain when I have the IP.

He sort of has the worst two aspects a mage can have: Single target and DoT

Basically for the same skill on Swain you could get double the returns on someone like Annie or Anivia.

And I've never seen his ult do anything besides give him staying power. Minimal damage and the heal isn't strong enough for him to get up close and personal enough anyway.
