This new AAR with Peru is quite different so far - seeing as Im half way through conquering one of my biggest allies last time round.

Crisis... is there some reason that whenever I use your save my game instantly stops responding when I click resume to start time. It even happens when I'm not using the save. Just having it in there messed stuff up. As soon as I removed it everything worked fine again. P.S. You can give manpower through cheat events.

I wish there was a good tutorial for this game. I don't understand anything in this game and I've gone through the tutorial two or three times now.

With a huge threat and no alliance, where do you end up on the diplomacy scale? Also, how do you decrease your threat? In my AAR it's rendered the Axis useless. It should be interesting to see how the same nation turns out this time.

Threat really has two negative effects, people are more aggressive toward you, and everyone is pushed away from your alliance like mad. However, if you want to conquer things threat is going to skyrocket. Enemies will probably be stationing on peru's border, and not the border opposite of it, and might decide to invade you due to your threat. However these are a nuisance at best, the largest disadvantage is that NOONE will join your alliance. The trick here is to delay joining the alliance AS LONG AS YOU CAN. As soon as you join an alliance, your threat will make it so not a single country will join for most of the game. The trick here is align to their side prematurely, but just dont join the alliance yet. Once you feel comfortable with the amount of nations in your alliance, then you join, since noone can change their faction. If you just do this, you should be able to raid everything and still have half the world in your alliance.

I just started playing yesterday. I had a few questions (on combat since the tutorial doesn't explain any of that) and those were all solved after asking Crisis about it. The rest is pretty straight-forward. All that is left is to get a tad bit better in general.

Exactly, it's a bit of a cliche but it's something you need a bit of experience with before you become good. Theory's good and all but I found you tend you end up twice the player after getting your arse kicked for a bit.

Chapter two: "If we invade it, they will come" [b] February 1937[/b] Norway shall be next in our Scandinavian campaign. If an entire army is not enough of an deterrence to them what good could a few military police and garrisons do. Meanwhile the 4th and 5th Mountain Divisions have finished training and are deployed in Lima. 3rd Division somehow lost two of it's brigades despite not losing any battles. 1st Army lands in Hati first. However a few don't have ports, and the nearest one to them are almost 1/4 of the country away. 1st Army goes straight for Sydney and surprisingly wins very quickly. I was expecting the Australian army to be better than this. Getting back to Peru is going to take a while. The Australian navy shows up again and begins pursuing us. [b]October 1937[/b] I look around Australia and see we have all their important provinces but still they have not surrendered. So I've been building / researching for a new paratrooper unit. Japan would be suicide (at the moment), and almost all of the Chinese nations are allied or puppets of Nationalist China. So first one.

Also about the constant rebellions, they can really be game breaking when you play like you do, when i was playing i ended up using 75% of my time and forces on squashing rebels. hell, i was in the middle of an invasion of england, and i was spending more time chasing rebels then micromanaging my entire army! luckily found a way to fix the outrageous rebelling. Go into your HOI3/common folder, and open the defines.lua there should be a line saying, years of nationalism=20 this is how rebels will be popping up there. since 20 years is ridiculously long, you could change it into something more realistic like 1 or 2 years, but personally i just set it at 0, eliminating rebels entirely, because i was sick and tired of them.
