First you download a texture pack you like (make sure its up to date!) Then start up minecraft, go to texture packs. Click on "open texture pack folder" (its something like that) then create a .zip file and place all the files from your downloaded texture pack into the .zip, if the .zip doesn't work try a .rar or some thing.
