I managed to pause the game as I'm slowly drowning in lava. How can I save myself? I have an empty bucket on my hot bar. If I change the difficulty to Peaceful and take up the source of the lava with my bucket do I have a better chance of surviving?
What should I do!?
How do you guys keep from getting lost in the Nether? I usually use/make several landmarks from the direction I traveled, or set a line/arrow of torches. Also, the "L" on Netherrock which cannot be unseen.

You can't do much, are you in a pool or just a spring? If a spring, remove the lava spring.

When that happens to me, I use MineEdit. I close Minecraft, open MineEdit, give myself diamond armor and up my health way above the default, making it so I can basically swim in the lava. Then swim to safety. Once I've reached safety, I revert my inventory/health back to normal.

On peaceful, there was a bug at night with mobs, making them spawn and instantly dissapear during all the time, wich was quite annoying/scary.

I have about 5 hearts left and I'm in a glass tower that's only got one exit at the top of it. It only has one block of lava, too. I think I'll just risk it. If I die, I have back up Diamond tools in a chest.. that's miles away from my spawn and I don't know how to get to it.

I did it, took me a couple of health resets but I got out. Fixed up the tower and threw the hacked in Diamond armour into the lava.

The "ghosts" are just enemy mobs that would "flicker" in and out of existence while on Peaceful, due to notch fucking up the spawning code again.

Did you know you can use a workbench as a source of fuel? It only does 1.5 blocks (like wood) but its an efficient way to rid yourself of excess benches.

tested, you can burn fences, but not ladders.
