I just realised something to get coloured wool easily, dye a sheep with one dye
When you remove its wool you get three colored wool!

We have Birches here in the US. It seems that some people didn't get it because Birch bark is not "iconic" of trees.
You can't re-dye wool, also if you already have the dye use it on the sheep so that there's a chance you get two blocks instead of one.
