He built the foundation of the game in a way that makes updating a lot of things hard or impossible, so many cool things are unable to be achieved.

It's easy enough to do until you're in the middle of a project/mining. Kind of a pain in the ass to pause every 5 blocks.

Why would you need to pause every five blocks? Does your computer crash every five blocks? And if you say "just in case", five blocks isn't a big deal. If your position is saved but not what you did to the world you can potentially get in much more trouble than that. And you'd better not expect the game to save everything every time you change something because it would make a badly optimized game unplayable.

I would much rather the random-crashing be fixed. That's why I'm pretty much forced to save so often when mining: It's RANDOM. It doesn't matter if I'm about to mine that vein of 8 diamonds or a piece of stone, it could crash at any time. Hell, it could crash if I move my mouse. Sounds like quite the adventure, eh? Tunneling in the deep, looking for treasures when, suddenly, everything goes black. You regain conciousness only to realize that you're buried in solid rock, suffocating! Can you dig yourself out in time? Is it worth it if you do? Which way is the main tunnel?
Or, I've decided to take a break from mining, venturing outside to obtain wood, wool, and feathers when, suddenly, black.
Obviously one situation's much more obnoxious than the other, but they're both equally irritating.
