Trying to merge two seperate groups of people with seperate leaders and respect and authority structures into efficiently working on a single project? It'd cost less to pay NASA to go to Mars than to pay them off towards each other, in all honesty.

Are the jeeps in OC fucked like the Synergy ones? As in, once they get flipped over you can flip them back because the Grav gun just makes them slide.
They can be flipped back just fine.
I dont know on what server the OP played, but I've never met a rusher in OC... NEVER. Also, nice job at the Level change timer.

Really? Cause I've seen admins that give themselves noclip so they can reach the end of a map they don't like as quickly as possible.

Well, I once saw a admin nocliping around in paysan and harvest, to get pumpkins or mushrooms faster.
Does the level change timer activate if all players reach the end, regardless of time left? Is there a way for admins to force it to proceed? (Besides manual console map change of course)
Level changes if either the timer runs out or a percentage of players entered it, both time and percentage can be changed by cvars.
Fucking amazing, I can settle for lack of manual map changes for that.

One more question: Can it be completely disabled by cvar, or would setting the timer to 0 or 1 seconds be the same thing?
setting the time convar to -1 disables the timer on the upper screen and setting percentage to 0 would restore the old behavior in just changing the map for the first one entered it
and before you ask, the console message can also be diabled via a cvar

Thanks thats all I wanted, now in order to make the gunship and strider battles as long and as intense as they were in SP everyones rocket ammo is going to have to be removed from there inventory at the start of:

and again from there inventory if they respawn so everyone has to get to the rocket crates for more ammo instead of just slaughering them where they stand like it is now
alright I think all thats needed after that is a server command thread or some sort of link on the main page for helpful server commands to make the command to disable bunny hopping and disabling and enabling/disabling that timer well known
like under downloads on the main page, have a separate page called server commands
with the ma bunny hop thing listed (I would look up the command on your forums but neico banned me from it, but whatever) and what it does and the timer cvar thing what is the command for that anyways?
As far as I know, you can set cfgs to be run at the start of certain maps. So, you could probably jury rig cfg files to set max rpg ammo to 0 at the start of the map, then toggle it back up to normal (3) immediately afterwards, thus stripping them out of their ammo. Not sure if this would work but if you're looking for a stopgap solution...

The console messages that come from the console. I don't think they are HUD. The level change timer uses the HUD (Though correct me if I'm wrong).
You mean the chat messages that are queued by the level change? I guess those could be counted as console commands but not really...

those "console" messages are actually chat messages, just directly from the server, and yes the countdown is part of the hud
Holy shit, i've never had a problem with anime models or rushing faggots in OC.
Maybe because its a game that isnt fun to play with pubs, and that I only play with friends.

I didn't care about the rushing since I don't really play OC that much (just came in here to watch the clusterfuck), but holy shit that's actually really cool.
One of the biggest problems with stability in both OC and Synergy, is Valve's issue at this point. They released a couple of updates, some public, some ninja updates, and they ended up fundamentally breaking a lot of shit. OC and Synergy have the exact same stability problems, and the same ATi GCF mounting problems.
It comes down to, do you want a bunch of custom content, or do you want to play the regular campaign in a streamlined experience?
Also as a note, Synergy spawns you with less health and ammo so that you actually work together. You also do more damage when you are closer to the rest of your team, and you take more damage if you are by yourself.
We do our best to force co-op, but it comes down to the players in the end, and that's not really our problem, OC or Synergy. The best solution is to play with a group of friends.
The two mods probably won't merge, but who knows, since Synergy is sort of in limbo right now. The main programmer is tired of Synergy, and I don't blame him. I wouldn't mind working with OC guys, because sometimes it's fun to add ridiculous stuff and just have fun.
Yeah but the spawning with 60 hp is a pain the ass since they just shred you anyways because you have no ammo and no suit charge to protect your health.
I mean it was hard enough as it was in v10 with 100 hp, there was no need to drop it down to 60. at the very least there should have been a choice in the matter along with do you want the unstable as hell checkpoints on your server.
so my point is it wasnt valves fault that synergy failed (although they certainly didnt help them any) it was the developers.
If the developers had left well enough alone and focused on fixing bugs and glitches rather than making it harder to enjoy and too unstable to play for anything more than an hour synergy would still be the top dog of hl2 co op.
now no one is and Obisidian seems like the best bet and even then its not popular enough to really have the kind of experence that I had in old synergy. hence why I started looking around and posted this thread to see if I missed a good co op mod that was as popular as old
synergy.
but the end of the level timer for HL2 - EP2 is defintely a step in the right direction for OC now they just need an option to turn the anime off (trust me somehow you always come across a server with anime models on it and it auto dl's them without you knowing about it) along with the main menu music as well and a new main menu thats not that hard to look at
and tone the anime WAY WAYYYYY down on the oc site, theres alot of people who have been put off from trying the mod because of that, almost all of my synergy friends dont care for it because of that and the above problems with hl2 co op.
I mean a fully modeled anime chick model on your server is a LITTLE too much for people to swallow as it is dont you think, especally mixed in with the already heavily anime filled forums.

I see you're still as ignorant as before. This is not going to happen ever since it's not the mod's problem.
The only server that does it is mine and Key's, its your own fault for joining it, it's in the damn server tags.

all of those screenshots were taken in the keyfox server besides the last one, that one has nothing to do with us for we only add furry shit (renamon, star fox, and lucario) to the model packs to satisfy all of our players
if you don't like the way oc is, thats your problem, go play synergy for all we care. all you're doing is playing a mod who's owner is sick of anyway, so don't expect many updates like oc will be getting
that is all i have to say, i am feeling quite calm with the recent ep3 info node discovery in the alien swarm sdk so i am not going to be forceful with this one bit

you know it really shows what kind of people you truly are when you keep slamming anyone who has any sort of problems with your mod.
these are not unreasonabile requests for any sort of normal hl2 co op players who dont want anime in there face at all times and your mod will never be as great as old synergy was with those attitudes.
ya know no wonder you've only got 9 servers worth of players on there right now, thats about double what synergy has now and thats pathetic for any mod.
