Loving this so far, it seems this is what Skate 2 should have been :) Love smashing the faces of Cuz and that other guy that loop the Rainbow-rail-table-thing near the steepest down rails (big stairsets) because they always stack the one closest to the long-hallway-thing (the straight line of when you first hit the streets with the long stair gaps). I think one way Skate could benefit from Tony Hawk games is to have a proper narrative, like in Tony Hawks Underground (I know it was basic, but it gave a sense of importance to winning events). I liked starting off in the small town, meeting one or two pros then progressing to major skate capitals. It was a cool game. I haven't played this demo yet, but I loved Skate and Skate 2 was awesome fun for a while. Hardcore mode certainly sounds interesting and I'll give this a rent, but the challenges in Skate 2 weren't compelling enough for me to buy from the series again if it isn't getting some structural changes. Also: Fucking pedestrians congregating everywhere I skate.

I'm considering picking up a Skate game after the demos of 2 and 3 got me interested. I've been looking up some reviews of Skate 1 and 2, but I can't really get a final decision on which one to get. Which of the 2 should I get (I'm not getting Skate 3 yet, just in case you considered mentioning that one)?

It offers more to the table, like cooler tricks, being able to get off your board, etc. And overall, it's just more fun to play.

It's not amazing like in a third person shooter or something but I don't give a shit. You can just run around freely and you can run ridiculously fast but it beats the shit out of taking 10 years to get anywhere. It's as good as it ever needs to be basically.

To get a lot of speed, do any flip trick onto those raimbow arc benches(the middle part), and before you grind, hold L2 to hold onto your board, and when you hit the ground, you get a big burst of speed. Also, make sure you land into a 50-50 onto the middle.

In Hardcore mode, to get a better speed for gaps etc, instead of pushing 3 times, just get off your board and sprint then get back on. You sprint faster than you skate (from no speed on flat ground).

Am I the only one who likes Skate 2 ragdoll over Skate 3's stiff as a board falls/hits? What I mean is when I hit a rail I want to slowmo curl around it not fucking hit it and fall backwards/bounce the fuck around everywhere.
