everyone has rated disagree without playing both extensively. skate 1's map, environment and general feel were in my opinion better than skate 2.

Yep, my PS3 freezes randomly when playing outside the demo area. Once just when I was about to jump over the shark :(

I'm not sure if this happened in 2 or not (I never played it), but one of the best parts of the demo is knocking over pedestrians and standing on/near them as they get up. If you're lucky, they'll lift up an arm or a leg under you and you'll get catapulted halfway across the demo area.

My particular reason is so that I don't have to drive and get a game when I can use Steam or that EA download manager shit and still be home.
Hard for me to get around at the moment.

I really like hardcore mode, but landing on a rail is a bit too difficult. Sometimes it even seem like it's missing the rail on purpose. But I guess I'll get used to it. And for every mode, for some reason it's really difficult to start a body flip, where in the first two games it was fairly simple. Maybe they'll have that worked out in the full game. The only other thing that bothers me is that they added song skip/restart buttons to the d-pad, which is smart in theory but considering how utterly shitty the 360 d-pad is, every time I go to reload my checkpoint, I end up skipping the song as well.

Also, I like the updated graphics in cameraman mode, and I love then new bail system where you run out of it about 50% of the time. Much more realistic. They really are progressing the game unlike other annual game series that add a couple new features in each game.

It's coming out soon, and already got leaked. My friend has it, and let me tell you, it is awesome. It seems like it actually has a somewhat decent storyline this time, but still, it's just good old skate gameplay with some epic tweaks. Oh, and by the way, the off-board tweaks are even better in the full game than they were in the demo.
