-Now that they will sell non-gaming software, ask if you will need to use Steam everytime you open an application like photoshop or CCleaner or any other app bought from Steam.
- Indie Devs can add free games (without micro) on steam greelight ? What about Source Mods ? we'll get an easy way to find and install them on Steam ?
will episode 3 run on my 486?!
- Did CSGO not receive microtransactions so it can be better compared to DOTA2's success?
- What's the significance of competitive gaming for the community & industry now, and do you think there's a gap to be closed between what it's worth now and what it could be worth?
- How is Steam's easily crackable almost-always-online DRM worth all the flak it's getting and all the issues with the offline mode?
- What can be done to counter to apathy people show towards the terribleness of competitive multiplayer games aside from the usual muting, flagging, banning, user rating creations?
- Why is Valve de facto buying so many creative ideas from modders that eventually lead to projects like DOTA2 or TF2? HL2 is held in high regards, so Valve obviously isn't lacking in the creativity department.
- Has the meta-sphere around games - Steam, community management, Workshop, Greenlight, TF2 economy - taken priority over actual game development or is it simply time for old projects to finally wrap up and surface?
yes and as soon as you step in, start babbling these questions over and over until somebody answers
because they are not totally too complicated or anything
Ask about the lack of mod support. And don't take "maps and skins" as an answer. Those aren't mods.
Ask if Valve keeps chat records of every single person who speaks to another on Steam.
believe me or not, but I had a crazy dream regarding that last night. I dreamed that there was a huge shitstorm in the news about valve collecting chat information. they copied all the posts related to half life 3, of every single user to see if there was still interest in the game (what?)
so yeah, go ask that :suicide:
If I ever got chance to speak to someone at Valve.
I'd tell them their company sucks and let them prove me wrong.
I'm sure I'd get something deep out of this, you see, there's a lot to say about what is Valve doing right, and what they could possibly be doing wrong, from their point of view.

If you walked into Valve's offices and started telling them they sucked, they'd probably ask "if that is the case, why are you our offices" and call security.

"if that is the case, why are you our offices"
mh, why is he their offices? thats fucking deep man
Bribe Gabe into telling you when HL3 comes out by giving him a knife for his collection.

While these are great questions, I don't think they would be great for just a fan stopping by. They are more for professional press to be asked in an interview.
When will an equivalent to the in-house version of hammer be available to the consumer?
Ask if they ever thought the company would be the innovator it is today.
The Ricochet series haunts my dreams, but the source2/hammer questions are the most important i think, although you would be really lucky to get a clear answer on either.
Asking them what took them so long with cs going public and why did the server crash afterward

These kind of proper questions rarely get asked though.
Ask 'em.
