I am currently on my school laptop, so I can't be sure if the optimization worked. I like the new way zombies fall apart, will they still blow up when you shoot them with a powerful weapon or will they still just fall apart?
Unless I decide to change it specifically, they will always fall apart that way. It wasn't even intended, it's a side effect of the optimization.
God, I love the 2 piece limb gib system a shitload better than the old cube one.

You could like, have houses get overrun with zombies after a while, so you could barricade a house to catch a little break and heal your wounds reload your guns etc, but you'd want to get out before too many zombies get outside.
I guess there will be safehouses, but not like in L4D, I guess they would be more like small "stations" where you grab a gun and some items before you keep going. Like the gun store in L4D2.

I love the idea of trying to survive in one place with a huge amount of land, making it more defensible, etc, I know you've already said that you don't want to focus on only zombies, but having that kind of gameplay would be awesome as no game has done it in 3D very well.
I apologize for late update, I didn't have much time to work lately and I've been doing mostly uninteresting stuff anyway but now I'm back on track. Time for weapon updates. This is the replacement for the standard machine gun. I don't like ripping off existing designs and I'm not a gunnut myself so the design might be a little shitty but I remade it 3 times already and I'm quite satisfied with it. Ta-ka!") etc. About the "watermark", it's just a tiny text in the bottom-right that shouldn't annoy anyone but would inform players about me if they get the game from somewhere else than my website. At least that's the plan.

This is getting better for each day, can't wait to see how this will look in the end.
by the way, enemies respawn now constantly and you will be able to set the maximum amount of enemies in the scene at the same time, so that it won't murder your fps with 100 enemies on screen. Default is 25, which gives me 60 fps but players with more powerful machines can easily raise that. P.S.
