It's a difficult question, being able to work on games for 8 hours a day is my lifetime dream, so I'd really love to get payed just enough to being able to pay the rent and buy bread and water but my primary goal is to make a good game, NOT earn money from it. Right now I think that making a free version with all features except for co-op and then making co-op a payed "DLC" might be a good idea, but I haven't decided yet, and I don't really need to decide until all the features are ready, until than it's going to be free as it is right now. Having it be sold on HIB (Humble Indie Bundle) would be fucking perfect but I doubt it's good enough, I'll do give it a shot when time comes though.
Heya, how about opening a donation account?
Heya, how about opening a donation account?
Um...you think there would be people willing to donate?
Well if the project has potential and people like it, they'd open their wallets for just about anything.
Sure, not a lot though, but a couple of buck perhaps.
I didn't really expect that, to be honest. Though a few extra bucks would be really helpful in my situation. I should probably think about solving my issues with PayPal (I hate those bastards but there's no way to avoid them, unfortunately).
Bye bye Minecraft, hello new sexy zombie model! Now time to texture it.
Bye bye Minecraft, hello new sexy zombie model! Now time to texture it.
Will stubs of limbs(read: flesh wound) stick out of em when you shoot a limb off?
Will stubs of limbs(read: flesh wound) stick out of em when you shoot a limb off?
I guess not, but it can be textured in if you edit the arm/body textures into having a flesh wound at the joint.
Will stubs of limbs(read: flesh wound) stick out of em when you shoot a limb off?
Probably not, that would be a bit difficult to do.
Now that there will be more joints, will it be possible to shoot off the upper/lower arm/leg?
Now that there will be more joints, will it be possible to shoot off the upper/lower arm/leg?
Yes, already possible. I still have to make the lower arm/leg to fly off when you destroy the upper one but it's nothing difficult.
you should somehow have different modes. Nerf mode. Mavericks and Vulcans everywhere. and dart arcs.
It's Saturday and suddenly there's TONS of shit that needs to be done before tomorrows release :/ Better start working.

Weekly releases are amazing and always give something to be happy for.
Im hooked on this, Why am I so amused by repeatedly making new weapons. :v:
I think enemy modding is more fun: I also gave the rifle a rainbow trace on the bullet.

Weekly releases are amazing and always give something to be happy for.
I'm trying but with my limited time I can't always release those big features within a week, it would've been much easier if those bills payed themselves. I have some serious unexpected bugs that popped up and there are still a thing or two left to do so I won't be able to release a new version this week. I will still write a progress report today and I promise to deliver lots-a-more stuff next week., like 3D weapons. I hope you guys understand. Merci.

I got one (stupid?) question, how to get into some sort of settings menu? The sensitivity is killing me, maybe I havent seen something or I havent looked hard enough.

There's a setting.xml file just next to the main .exe file but it doesn't do anything yet. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I'll include sensitivity settings in the next version.
I hope there could be more options later on in the modding, like damage (once a health system is added) and crawling speed separate from the movement speed (so actors with speed 100 don't still slide all around you when you shoot their legs).
Things like that are quite easy to implement, I just need to know what needs to be implemented.
I don't think all of that would be so easy, sure adding a sprite, giving it a script for it to move in the general direction you're shooting and adding an animation from where it hit would be enough for an explosive projectile in a game like this, but I'd like to see things like different AI behaviors (friendly, enemy, special kinds for bosses, flying, etc) and what my experience with that is that it would probably take some more time. When it comes to the settings menu at the start of the game, I'd like to get buttons binds for looking around for people who uses the pad on a laptop as a mouse and a button to zoom in or some kind of secondary attack bound to right mouse button by default. I'm just a bit spoiled on games which allow zooming in when using iron sights to increase accuracy. Also, will there be any form of music in the game? I see there is an option to enable it in the settings file, but I don't hear any music in the game. Anyway, I like the fact that you give out releases with short intervals of the alpha instead of keeping it to yourself and writing about it in a development blog. It makes it easier for us to give feedback and point out bugs.

Giving users access to specific parts of the game is easy, creating new features like explosive weapons is not. I'll look into it but I can't promise anything.
Also, will there be any form of music in the game? Looks really cool.
I saw the title and immediately thought of The Wonderful End of the World by Dejobaan Games. Hopefully nobody else gets confused.
This weeks (Last weeks) Devlog, unfortunately, no video or new testing build this week because all new features are still WIP, sorry. I am working on setting up a Wiki, it will appear on my website in a few hours. I will post modding tutorials, my to-do list of features and have a community suggestion section, where you can post all the crazy shit you want me to do. [editline]22nd November 2011[/editline] I would also like to copy this announcement from my blog.
Last five weeks have been a blast for me. I got to do what I wanted to do my whole life, working as a video game developer 6+ hours a day but unfortunately now the "real life" is taking its toll. My bills won't pay themselves and I cannot feed myself by photosynthesis, like a plant, even though I'd love to. This means that I will not be able to spend as much time working on "My Fabulous End of the World" which in turn means that I most likely will not be able to post as many updates as I did before. If you really like what I'm doing, please consider a donation. Even small amounts would allow me to spend more time working on the game and providing you with updates more often. I will credit all my supporters because I love you guys.
3D animation is going to be the death of me one day. Even a simple running cycle requires lots of time and focus to details. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lkUQP.jpg[/img_thumb]
Ugh, good thing I'm learning game development and not game design :v: [editline]23rd November 2011[/editline] I also want to take back what I said before about how it might get repetitive. It's really fun, and as long as you keep going this direction I'll make sure to donate.
