Just tried the demo, it really does look much better with tessellation. Combined with Rage's super high res textures it would be even better, because it looks kinda weird to look at a high poly model with a low res texture.
The night race looked real, the flag was pretty cool, and the water was cool.
People were shit.

It's WAAAAYYY easier to develop games with DX11 than with DX9. They mainly improved the coding part.
