Come on you can't even spell the name of the game right.
Did you guys receive a ninja update for it? I did.
Yeah I just got that too. I wonder what they did, probably hid the evidence.

Maybe you can open the exe using Notepad + like in the picture to confirm that? I would but I don't have it.

I don't see the MYTH logo anymore in ascii. Then again I never looked before so I'm not sure exactly where it would be.

now its in testapp.exe instead of maxpayne2.exe
edit: its in the top of the exe if opened in a text editor
Why is this such a big deal for some people?
Man, you guys are acting like this is a real Payne in the ass.
Total rip off of the earlier pun, I know, I just felt like this was a better context.
Yup still here
No-CD cracks are included in all pirated versions of retail games. How do you think you're able to play them without owning them? It's common sense.
I think you'll also find that all Nazi concentration camps had guns in them.
Therefor, guns = the holocaust.
Shouldn't this count as copyright infringement?
Myth created that .exe and now it's being sold through steam :v:
Apparently they removed it and taken the game back a patch.
Nothing says fun like punishing your customers because they found out how lazy you are.

not exactly removed:

They rolled it back according to kotaku.
Who honestly cares? Maybe Rockstar contacted someone from Myth and gave them a bit of money? Maybe they just figured "fuck it let's release the game because people want to play it we'll just put this bit of code it and jobs done no one will care"

Myth couldn't copyright the work they did - as it derives directly off the work off Rockstar.
I laughed.
The thing here isn't that r* did anything illegal, it's the fact that they are goddamn hypocrites. They fight SO HARD against piracy, only to then steal their code themselves. They are also just lousy thieves.

1st. Read posts to show how retarded your belief about the legality of cracking a game
2nd. They're not hyppocrites. You're just stupid.
and 3rd. How could they be thieves at all? What did they steal?

only saw it once... does it offend your religion?
I don't understand how it's not illegal, I don't care who owns the original EXE, if I were to edit it, the edits would be mine. If you make a game mode for GMOD the mod doesn't just become Garrys.

But if you edit a gamemode, you cannot claim it as your own.
[editline]02:28PM[/editline]
The EXE is not theirs, because they edited an existing EXE, for a game, which isnt theirs either.
They own the code they added, and that's it.
[editline]05:30AM[/editline]
A better example would be if somebody made a remix of a song, the owners of the original song can't just take it and say it's theirs without their permission, right?

They do not own the code they added, lets say I take a book, and add a few pages, and then sell it, do you think I am not going to be sued?
A better example would be if somebody made a remix of a song, the owners of the original song can't just take it and say it's theirs without their permission, right?
Considering they did write and make the original song, and the person who made the remix only edited it then yeah, they can.
They do not own the code they added, lets say I take a book, and add a few pages, and then sell it, do you think I am not going to be sued?
That isn't the same thing. Fixed: You had a book, added annotations, sold it, then the publishers got a hold of it and reprinted it with your annotations.
