If you wanted to really map you'd need to learn to model, as levels in Stalker are made up of hundreds of individual objects (including terrain etc).
For adding anomalies, items and stuff, you can start by looking at the tutorial I wrote (it's in the OP) :)

If you just want to create the map itself, no. To get it populated, you're going to need a little bit of STALKER scripting knowledge (but nothing like Lua unless you want to do something fancy). You [i]will[/i] require a looooot of time to populate a new map fully, though.

Thats odd useually all games have there terrain made by the sdk.

It might be because I started the new game it overwrote the old log, let me delete the current log and try to load the game again.
You guys know the first time you see a bloodsucker? well I was walking along the runway on the far right and when that acid pool was in the way I jumped down to walk past the generator and that mutherfucker ran around the corner and started attacking me. It was an intense fight but I finally won!
