they cant possibly go out of business - they dont realy invest in anything. steam is much more than self sufficient. unless they decide to spend over 70 million us dollars on something stupid i cant see them selling out
stream is a limmitless goldmine-if i where valves leader- i would give out MORE free games to get more customers onto steam- ,lets face it- does alien swarm really appeal to many players? i would make some epic fps for free. what kind of gamer would turn down an epic fps for free? a game like that would put lots of customers onto steam- building brand loyalty and making steam the number 1 choice. it wouldent cost money making such an game either.....
1: recycle old models, add a few new ones
2: incorporate latest version of source (complete with ai director) as well as previous code used for npcs
3: make some new textures and a hud.
4: make a co op, lots of multiplayer modes, multiplayer should have npcs and bots added
5: gameplay should be fine tuned, add lots of replay value (preferably not unlocks)
6: ??????
