Not in multiplayer, singleplayer apparently has a boat and snowmobile scene.

It'd be pretty god damned annoying if you have to keep facing this problem but instead, 10 people have shields and you're by yourself with just a pistol.
But if you killed all of them you'd feel fucking badass (with anything other than a nade)

Well, when you switch weapons you put the shield on your back. So I'd imagine you switch and pick up any gun.

China and Russia teaming up against the U.S? But even then I hardly see them winning. And I doubt that they are going with the "Europe vs U.S" thing, that's way too unrealistic, even for a Modern Warfare.
But DC clearly had light fortifications (barbed wire and tank traps) all over the place, so it hasn't been just nuked/bombed, it's a full-fledged battlefield (which means there has to be some kind of army/force invading it).
The wait is killing me.
Not only because I am excited for MW2, but because I pre-ordered the whole 250gb custom MW2 Xbox. I sold mine awhile back, and since my 18th birthday is in 2 days, my parents are going to pitch in on the cost.

Could be, it could be anything that would "disable" the defences of D.C., which could be some sonic or microwave device or anything that would fry computers (making most military hardware useless). Heck it could be a computer virus powerful enough to fuck up the army.
And we've seen terrorists attacking an airport several times, the device/weapon could be delivered by aircraft.
Still D.C. is in a pretty bad shape, so there has been a lot of fighting there, and whomever invaded D.C. must have had a quite powerful force to keep the U.S. army from taking over D.C. for long enough time to devastate D.C. like that.
