Yes, you do fine against other controller users. Now play against someone who uses a keyboard and mouse and see how fast the playing field shifts.
Maybe you should play on the 360 / PS3 with a controller against other people who use a controller and then play on a PC with other people on a PC and realize that they are two entirely different things. When you play on the PC, you generally don't use a controller. When you play on a console, you generally don't use a keyboard and mouse. Stop complaining and let us enjoy the game on whatever system we want to play it on.
Oh god lol. This arguement summed up: "YOU SUCK, MY OPINION IS RIGHT"
Oh god lol. This arguement summed up: "YOU SUCK, MY OPINION IS RIGHT"
Pretty much. Anyway, is anyone else looking forwarding to spec ops as much as I am?
Call of Duty is a competitive game, people like to be able to play with the best hardware possible. Mouse and keyboard is the only way to go with this game. The controller is a cluster fuck of terrible ideas. Horrible button placement and shitty aim assist.
Oh man, this one was some serious forum gold here. CoD isn't competitive, it's casual. Dude, you are aware that Modern Warfare 2 has a "make the game easier" button, right? Literally, there is an option in the pause menu called "Lower difficulty". That's just sad, maybe MW3 will feature a Win button for their hard core fanbase. :D I'm a major PC -and- console gamer, and playing on them are two separate experiences. I can also do both very, very well. I stopped playing games competitively on either side simply due to the lack of challenging games, however if I were to consider it again I'd probably start on a console.
So no clans and having to pay for DLC which is new to me. Well there's alread a huge amount of boycotters: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/BOYCOTTMW2 http://steamcommunity.com/groups/wewantdedicatedMW2 http://steamcommunity.com/groups/MW2-Boycott And a petition http://www.infinityward.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=121918
I myself couldn't care less about competitive stuff (though I know a lot of people do), and I'm glad they are using VAC instead of Punkbuster, but no dedicated servers and no mods? You can suck my dick IW, I'm not getting the game at launch (which will be at console price), I'll get it later when the price drops to normal PC price. And payed DLC? Unless it's big I don't really see many PC gamers paying for it. Does IW really think that their game is the only one coming out in these months?

R.I.P Infinity Ward, you were a bit like Westwood until EA bought them. Except this time it's Activision.

Sure Activision probably has something to do with it, but IW is in no way innocent.
Mouse is still quicker and more accurate...
It's not a valid argument, considering that on console you're fighting against the same consoles not against pc. Controller fps is one of those things that should grow onto you. Also there's no punkpuster for the consoles.

Anyhow I will buy this for the console seeing as all of my friends will and I want to experience co-op on the first day. :v:
Yes, you do fine against other controller users. NOBODY GIVES A FLYING FUCK WETHER YOU PREFER IT ON THE PC OR THE CONSOLE. IT'S NOT LIKE YOU ARE FORCED TO PLAY WITH A FUCKING CONTROLLER AGAINST PEOPLE WITH KEYBOARD AND MOUSE, OR VICE VERSA. IT'S A CUNT-ASS RETARDED DISCUSSION AND ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS AS WELL. No pro controller-pro mouse argument is valid, cause they're not arguments they're all opinions. In my opinion Punkbuster ruins every multiplayer that has it and that's why I got it for xbox.
Ironic, I was in l4d2 boycott group but now when mw2 seems to be turning to shit, I will spend my 60$ on l4d2 rather than this.
I wish I also could spend 60$ on a game that is repetetive and has a terrible story if even a story at all. No seriously I don't like L4D or L4D2. But enough about that. MW2 to me seems to be game of the year because it has: 23 coop missions. A 6-10 hour long storyline which is good in this case because then they can focus on the depth of it, the multiplayer and so on. The multiplayer goes without saying too.
Well this sucks dick
What magazine is that from?
Its a local magazine, called gameaxis. Or something like that.
I really don't see how all those things they said about the PC version would make you hate it. I mean, how can you know that a matchmaking system is not going to work well without even playing that game? Maybe they'll make the system work really well and will actually be even more convenient than what we had in CoD4? About mods, the only multiplayer mod I saw for CoD4 was a pretty shitty zombie mod, others just had stupid shit like more powerful weapons and shit like that. And about custom maps, pretty much nobody plays those custom maps. I've been playing CoD4 multiplayer on many different servers and so far haven't found at least one that would be running a custom map.
Mostly just no dedicated servers. Seriously? Why would you take away that?

You're not forced to play on a specific server that could be half way across the world. You can choose which server you join. To make MW into a competitive game, it needed servers running modified configurations, if not the game is too casual. It will be impossible to do this in MW2, essentialy taking the heart out of PC gaming
This is not good news and why have they left this announcement so late?? Do they know it's going to get bad views or what. The Infinity ward site has a 73 page and the members on there are also pretty pissed. They might be same level but they may be having a crap day and I enjoy fighting against the various levels as you get a variety of weapons
Mostly just no dedicated servers. Seriously? Why would you take away that?
Removing dedicated servers, and therefore mods makes it much easier to sell DLC, as there cannot be any 3rd party maps.

Maybe there will be a server browser, maybe the system will just automatically show all the servers that fit your skill and your likings, yet you'll still be able to pick the one you like the most out of them? That's possible, isn't it? And I, personally, really couldn't care less about competitive gaming

What about people in smaller countries? They'll be screwed because IW won't bother putting up a server anywhere nearby. What if you don't want to play against people at the same skill level? Less players, Higher pings.

France, England aren't that far away. Live somewhere in the far east? China, Japan is right there. Live in the middle-east? Well, not many big countries there, but I'm sure they'll have some servers running for those people too.

The amount of servers is inline to demand. Do you really think IW/Activision will bother creating even a fraction of that amount? Take Australia for example. If the servers aren't in the country, gamers who live there will have huge pings. Yes, IW will probably put up a few servers, but it's very unlikely to be enough. There's remote areas all over the world, that still constitute a sizeable player base, but will not have any servers near them

Not a very small thing, but still. Besides, you're just assuming it's going to be like that, it is possible that IW are actually going to support it very well. I'm mainly be getting the game for the singleplayer so most of this doesn't really affect me much.
I don't want matchmaking. It will most likely fuck me over like l4d matchmaking does. And openserverbrowser doesn't work that well. I want dedi servers, I don't want to play in servers from different countries, I want my local community server. Why more and more companies treat pc like a console? We want freedom, not your shitty restrictions.
I live in Singapore, somewhere in Asia, and I only have 2-3 servers in my country. Now that IW is hosting the servers, I'm fucked. Unless it's like Battlefield 2142 where they had 15 servers in my country, I'm not bearing much hope for this.
Does anyone else think that this stupid controversy is telling IW that they shouldn't bother making pc games?
Does anyone else think that this stupid controversy is telling IW that they shouldn't bother making pc games?
Nah, they are just trying to trick Infinity ward into stop making games which is very unlikely
