If they do end up rebuilding the online portion I'll honestly consider getting it, maybe they'll learn from this. I'm probably being naive.
The bitchfest about the server system being changed shows exactly how buttfuckingly retarded the PC community is. When you buy a game, you are not entitled to the nice extras like mods or a dedicated server system. Though nice to have for obvious reasons, you are not promised them (and besides the modding for CoD 4 was a fucking joke). I know the console users will not complain if they were given a server browser, as they don't know any better most times, but portraying the console and it's user base as retarded, disease ridden scum does not show maturity, it shows stupidity. It makes me ashamed to be a PC gamer sometimes. Maybe developers should for once think about modifying the console versions to meet up with PC versions, then again, the PC community would then cry over losing their "superiority".
And it appears the answer to every problem the PC community has is a boycott, one of the most ineffective forms of protest I have ever known, especially Internet based ones as they are so easy to tamper with. But again, bitching and moaning might have done something, I expect a shoddy, tacked on system that hardly works if the boycott has made IW change their minds. Still, I would mainly be getting this for singleplayer, and seeing as the multiplayer community in CoD 4 was fairly crap, I expect twice the shit here, another reason not to go near it. So these decisions don't affect me too much I guess.
So your saying that 82472 people are wrong for loving a feature that made the game great, and are pissed that its getting taken away are retarded?. We are entitled to a slight say, primarily because we are the ones who fund their next damn video game. I'm not saying that every damn feature has to be hand tailored to out liking, but we at least should be able to get our voices heard, and our opinion should matter to an extent. What if god said...
"I give unto you all the seed bearing plats of the earth."
"Hot damn these apples are good."
"Okay, I'm going to make them, bigger, juicer, and tastier, but in order to get one, you must kill the farmer who planted the tree to which upon it grows."
"That's kinda harsh, could you make it so I hug the farmer instead?"
"Nope."
Oh boy I sure do love the fact that I'm getting it on the Xbox.
So I come in here confused and clueless about the latest MW2 updates for PC... I go back a few pages, find out whats going on and...
RAGE
that is all

Dedicated servers is NOT! An extra or a bonus. It is a standard for PC games. I stopped reading your post after this as your logic is flawed.
I could think of a better analogy, but I'm tired.

Holy shit triple ninja.
Oh boy I sure do love the fact that I'm getting it on the Xbox.
Thats great, Xbox didn't have in the first place what the PC lost.
Or was that sarcasm in your post?

No, I was serious. Xbox 360 of course uses matchmaking, so we're not losing anything. But I feel for you PC guys.

Stopped reading at dedicated servers. Just because consoles don't get them doesn't mean the PC version shouldn't. Server browsers are the standard for PC games, there's no good reason to take them out.
I don't see the point of getting it for PC over consoles now, unless you don't have a console

Well I have a 360 but I don't have Live. And keyboard and mouse is a lot better than a controller. (To me anyway)

I would agree about the keyboard and mouse, but I feel that the Call of Duty games really nailed the controls on the controller. However, I've never played the PC versions, so I can't compare.

I honestly like them both equally.
The controller just feels great.

Normally this is true, but the PC version of this game has no dedicated servers or mods so it's pretty much an exact port.
I believe the segment of the video that's taken from was showing the gaming communities from the typical PC gamer's perspective, not making a statement about one being better than the other.
To all the people saying that they're buying it for the singleplayer, there's only 6-8 hours of it, so there might be difficulty justifying spending $60 for such a short amount of play time.
And why the fuck are they charging $60 for it?
What rock have you been living under? All new games have come out as $60, or at least 90% of them. Especially console releases.
I think he means the PC version.
Anyhow I hope IW fixes this (and that they don't delay the game) so we all can finally stop hating on it. I mean, did most of you buy this only for the online or did the campaign simply vanish? And no, I'm not saying you have to replay the campaign a hundred times.
I think the CONSOLE gamers need to fuck off and let us do what we want.
There there, no need to cry, I fixed it for you. Would you like an ice-cream?
Hot damn, we've actually made an impact.
High fives are in order!

What they do?
IW forums are in flames. Nice job IW.
Ha, they are like china, trying to cover up and shoot anyone who is on the forums.
And if they ever want to charge you for dedicated servers, fuck them. I would only be happy if it is a patch.
I don't see an impact. I only see "okay they have a petition for our bad choices"
Nothing, and most likely they'll just "address your concerns, but we guarantee the new matchmaking system will be beneficial for all" or some bullshit like that
It's not like IW is listening anyway, since they already made this announcement.
I really dislike match-making, if I want to play with people 50 levels higher than me, let me play with people 50 levels higher than me.
I bet that feature is aimed at the 'casual gamers' and game companies aiming everything at the 'casual gamers' fucking sucks.
What they do?
Well, considering that they have acknowledged it publicly and are apparently going to do something about it, I think that's good.
Also I never really understood the point in playing with people as good as you, how will you ever improve without someone to kick your ass around and you finding ways to avoid it?

oh okay
