Now lets keep our raging to a minimum until we see what their reaction is.
I really hope they scrap everything that was announced at the same time as the no dedicated server thing.

I have nothing against VAC
I have nothing against VAC
I don't like the full integrated on steam, it means only one person in my household can play the game unless we share accounts or buy separate copies of the game, neither of which are going to happen.
Also paid for DLC.
Steam doesn't automatically mean paid DLC though.
On topic with Call of duty, in COD4 has anyone here ever tried the scorpion with a silencer and double tap? I swear the thing shoots fucking beanbags it's so weak.
Nah, I just go silenced MP5 w/ UAV Jammer and Steady Aim
So your saying that 82472 people are wrong for loving a feature that made the game great, and are pissed that its getting taken away are retarded?. We are entitled to a slight say, primarily because we are the ones who fund their next damn video game. I'm not saying that every damn feature has to be hand tailored to out liking, but we at least should be able to get our voices heard, and our opinion should matter to an extent.
I'm not saying those people are wrong, no, I am just saying that the way the community treats the problem is a bit pathetic really. There seemed to be little logical discussion, boycotts are hardly discussion, it's more of a tantrum, the developer may have had good reasons for changing the system (thought being owned by Actimoney they probably didn't). There were probably a couple of people who were discussing it with actual thought put into their arguments instead of "We are PC gamers therefore we DESERVE these features". But the majority were probably just crying to make it looks worse.
Dedicated servers is NOT! An extra or a bonus. It is a standard for PC games. I stopped reading your post after this as your logic is flawed.
Dedicated servers CAN be a little extra, it may be standard for PC games to use a dedicated server, but that doesn't mean that every game has to use one, look at Red Faftion: Guerrilla, that used matchmaking, and P2P servers, but I didn't see that many people complaining about them after release. The only things you would be missing if they do not implement this system is the shitty modding community, clan servers, 24/7 servers (no big loss), and those really annoying servers that kick for swearing and the likes. In my entire time of playing CoD4, most of the servers I've seen that were dedicated were just full of circlejerking clan members, or people who enjoyed pulling votes as soon as the map changed.
And you stopped reading there? You missing half the argument man, half the argument...having a opinion on a server system makes my logic flawed? Then yours is too I suppose.

VAC is better than PunkBuster, I'm all for that change :v:
The bitchfest about the server system being changed shows exactly how buttfuckingly retarded the PC community is. When you buy a game, you are not entitled to the nice extras like mods or a dedicated server system. Though nice to have for obvious reasons, you are not promised them (and besides the modding for CoD 4 was a fucking joke). I know the console users will not complain if they were given a server browser, as they don't know any better most times, but portraying the console and it's user base as retarded, disease ridden scum does not show maturity, it shows stupidity. It makes me ashamed to be a PC gamer sometimes. Maybe developers should for once think about modifying the console versions to meet up with PC versions, then again, the PC community would then cry over losing their "superiority".
And it appears the answer to every problem the PC community has is a boycott, one of the most ineffective forms of protest I have ever known, especially Internet based ones as they are so easy to tamper with. But again, bitching and moaning might have done something, I expect a shoddy, tacked on system that hardly works if the boycott has made IW change their minds. Still, I would mainly be getting this for singleplayer, and seeing as the multiplayer community in CoD 4 was fairly crap, I expect twice the shit here, another reason not to go near it. So these decisions don't affect me too much I guess.
Hey, if you like having a shittier game, that's fine. We don't.
Also I never really understood the point in playing with people as good as you, how will you ever improve without someone to kick your ass around and you finding ways to avoid it?
Well, whenever i reinstall my game i go from a level 60 to a level 1, soooo....
[editline]06:48AM[/editline]
Matchmaking is still shit though. :(
You can backup your profile etc
You can backup your profile etc
I have a leveling addiction so I don't mind it.
Well, if IW doesn't do anything with the matchmaking thing, atleast some of us can make a steam group and start our own private matches?
I really dislike match-making, if I want to play with people 50 levels higher than me, let me play with people 50 levels higher than me.
I bet that feature is aimed at the 'casual gamers' and game companies aiming everything at the 'casual gamers' fucking sucks.
I completely agree with this. I mean, maybe I just bought the game later on than everyone, does it mean I suck at it? I bought CoD WaW way after it's release and still played just as good as in CoD4.
Really, this might make sense for the consoles, but for the PC, it's total bullshit.
As we get closer to the 100000 mark, I want to congratulate everybody who thinks it matters, atleast to some extent. Hopefully IW won't ignore our sign, as it is not something small. 100000 people thought this was wrong. Congratulations to every PC gamer that voted.
100000.
Well I should also sign the petition seeing as dedicated servers is a bloody must and not a retarded matchmaking system.
I really want this but I don't know if I'll ever bother to shell out £40 for the PC version, I'd never buy it on console, and in the case of modern warfare 1, the price basically stayed the same for like a year after release.
FourZeroTwo issued a statement online about MW2. He said the reason for not having dedicated servers was to prevent piracy and make it easier for PC players to "play". If you are a PC gamer, it's implied that you know more than the average user.

Hell, even nasty DRM is better than this shit.
How much more can they fuck pc users because of their piracy? Now when they got no dedis, it will be pirated even more.

"Here at Infinity Ward we think that the PC community should shut the fuck up and get on with it, p.s. we don't care how much you whine"
Come on IW, you can do it, shit out a dedi server for us.

This, totally this.
I know that there is ALOT of people near me that used a pirated version of CoD4, now, due to it's MASSIVE price and all the reasons stated in the previous posts, I really doubt there will be PC players that will have an original version of MW2.

This.
Yeah, use sandpaper instead.
That has been dipped in a mix of tabasco, tequila, and then set on fire.
I think the digital versions of any game should be tons cheaper, considering that they don't have to ship it.
I really doubt there will be PC players that will have an original version of MW2.
There will be, quite some I guess.
I bet there will be someone, somewhere in the world that somehow mods MW2 to allow dedicated servers.
I bet there will be someone, somewhere in the world that somehow mods MW2 to allow dedicated servers.
Will be hard and illegal and probably will take years to make.
I bet there will be someone, somewhere in the world that somehow mods MW2 to allow dedicated servers.
Probably wouldn't be too hard to do with hamachi.. I think?
Probably wouldn't be too hard to do with hamachi.. I think?
Hamaci emulates lan, not a dedicated server.
