And this is where Infinity Ward sees its release profits fall in the millions.
I doubt they will care much since console release will give them more than they deserve already.
And this is where Infinity Ward sees its release profits fall in the millions.
Since when do game developers make millions of dollars from games
actually, they will probably make just as much money if not more, you're forgetting that 90% of CoD4 players are idiots anyway, plenty of people will still buy this game
I'm in the UK and it's £34.99, I can't find it any cheaper for preorder anywhere else, is this price up problem only for US and AUS?
And this is where Infinity Ward sees its release profits fall in the millions.
IW doesn't make a profit or loss, Activision Blizzard do.
haha, $60 on Steam, €60 in Europe!
Is Infinity Ward losing their mind? Or maybe Activision forgot to put them on their leash.

All prices were the same ammount in both euro and USD on steam for ages. Steam seems to have never heard of something called exchange rates.
yay! Spec ops for only 2 players when I always play with 2 other mates. So that's not going to work. Plus the game isn't out on steam till 12 November 2009. So if we get it from steam we get to wait an extra 2 days!
All prices were the same ammount in both euro and USD on steam for ages. Steam seems to have never heard of something called exchange rates.
Still, that's the highest I've seen a single game sell for on Steam.
specs ops is just the same as playing on a console now. Another feature to give us PC gamers the same as consoles

Yeah, and right now for example the difference between Euro and US Dollar is pretty darn big, it just passed the 1.50 mark.
So are the dedicated servers still out?
So are the dedicated servers still out?
No
No
We got them back?
"$89.99 USD"
Fuck off
And they've already announced 3 dlc packs months ago.
So for you guys to even play after a while the game will cost $120 USD.
What.
We got them back?
We never had them.
Not going to buy this if it costs more than the usual 107 bucks here in Norway.
And they've already announced 3 dlc packs months ago.
wasnt just two map packs?
wasnt just two map packs?
The first two are XBOX timed exclusive, a third coming not long after for everyone.
That's just bullshit. You don't fucking plan DLC that far in advance.

...kinda ironic they run away from EA and now are making this marketing move
also, fuck, i was going to hit reply and my shitty mouse rated you dumb, sorry
Edit: there, i think i was able to change the rating to informative
it's already 5th on steam top sellers! Can't believe it!
it's already 5th on steam top sellers! Can't believe it!
Being 5-th doesn't mean a thing. They could have a very small ammount of preorders, but more than the rest.
I'm in the UK and it's £34.99, I can't find it any cheaper for preorder anywhere else, is this price up problem only for US and AUS?
Well...34£ in UK so ~42€ for me or I take the long way 34€ but I have to wait 2 weeks...
It's not expensive here for me in Germany as long as I import it. (Don't want to pay 60€ here).
haha, $60 on Steam, €60 in Europe!

I'm fairly certain IW isn't in charge of pricing, and Activision is to blame.
I like how this thread up to a certain point was talking about how awesome the game was gonna be then around the middle rage and hatred from there on
I like how this thread up to a certain point was talking about how awesome the game was gonna be then around the middle rage and hatred from there on
But there is an extremely valid reason behind the raging.
[editline]03:45PM[/editline]
So it's 60€ on Steam, or I can buy the physical copy (and skip the painfully slow download speeds) for 44€.
Hey guys check this out:

I saw this interview from a gentleman who left (or was fired, I don't know) Infinity Ward. It's from shortly before CoD4 was released. Man, how things have changed.

Edit: And the background music in this video totally makes it sound like a patriotic speech.
It's like they totally changed their mindset in the course of one year. I wonder why?
Getting rated dumb for saying Activision wants money?
Why else would they charge $60 for a PC game?
Because people start businesses to make money, not to make people feel warm inside
but don't get me wrong, the whole thing is very stupid and i wont buy the game
Wow, Steam's inability to grasp exchange rates + IW's ridiculous smug pricing = :eng99:
Steam doesn't set the price in other countries, Activision/IW do.
