Level 17 now. I love doing mercenary missions, so much EXP and credits!

nope, due to the recent announcement they're taking off subscription and making it f2p after buying the game.
Well I bought the game... and it insists on doing an INCREDIBLY LONG "first-time" setup every time I launch it. Is that normal?

I started playing... and I'm quite confused. I did two PvE missions, got some equipment (which had a durability bar... do you need to upkeep equipment?!), and made some paltry amount of money. Is there a beginner's guide somewhere?

Don't call it F2P, its just pay once like Guild Wars. You pay for expansions instead of a subscriptions, but you can still play without new expansions.
I'll hop-on in about 10-20 minutes. Amaurus is my name. i switch occasionally between a robo and medic i have. both are level 20+ neither above 25. I have an assault though (level 30-40) I NEVER play him though.

Recons are really annoying, considering they lay down a mine that stuns, then they destroy your buildings when your playing robotics. Snipecons are annoying too. Being robotics is difficult.

Robotics are the engineers, while recons are the spies. This game is very similar to tf2.
I just hate it that when you finally get a recon down to like 100 HP they'll stealth up and sprint off. Shit annoys me.
Then they come back with full hp and continue the process. Fight, run low on health, stealth, get healed, and repeat.

Can't find em when they're stealthed. I do find melee effective against them, but they just run away and stealth.

I now consider this the best mmo I've played. Surprised really.
Best MMO I've played is Planetside, I quit because the playerbase kept growing smaller and more hackers arrived.

That's why i love playing Recon, pay attention and no fucker will be able to kill you.
Even better to have Visual Scanner to be able to find other Recons when they think they're safe, Recon only feature thou. ^^

When an item loses durability it loses it's special stats as far as I know and crafting..is well crafting items?

Every mission you play you lose 1 durability, when durability goes to 0 you lose items bonus, if you use Rapair Kit on it (Green Repair Kit for Green Item, Blue for Blue etc.) it goes up to 100 and you get bonuses back.
Every time I log on, the UI is screwed up. I'll press escape and all I'll see is "Disconnect" and "Quit Game". The buttons still exist above because I can click them, they just don't show up. And the spell I have that heals me (that was previously R) doesn't work in missions anymore.
Whats a good weapon for assault? In general.
A minigun or launcher.
Played the demo liked it and bought the game. I have a lvl 15 medic and recon. Name is kapture if anyone wants to add me.
Level 14 Medic now, I can't wait until I'm level 29 and can get the awesome-sounding Pain Gun.
I bought the game, but now it's not letting me log in. I activated my account, and I changed my password twice to see if that was the problem, but no dice. I hate when this happens in mmos.
I feel like medic (the class I play) is the weakest... I cant kill shit and when I'm healing someone they never defend me. (Level 15)
Medics are awesome. Also, I'd like an invite to FPNR. In game name is 'Hekatonkhire'.
I love playing assault. Not all the time though. I like it when I pair up with a robo that can build medical and power stations. With that, defense is easy with a tremor launcher.
