recon is p cool you can sniper all day w/o dieing
To be honest this game is pretty boring after a while. They just dump you into the city and you're doing quests / those pvp matches just to pass time. Theres sort of like... No point... Might be more interesting with the agencies, but with a free account... Boring after a while.

Are gamers today in such a bad form that they really need carrot-on-a-stick mechanics just to enjoy games? :(
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/SMDcl.png[/img_thumb]
you would have to be a really, really bad player to end a match with 0 damage...
That's recons for you.
you would have to be a really, really bad player to end a match with 0 damage...
I do that with my pure healing medic sometimes :v:
If my brother and I were going to play this, would it be a bad idea if we were both Recon? Seems like the most interesting class, although I originally wanted to be a medic with him as a recon.

If you are terrible, you will be completely useless. If you are average, you will be completely useless. If you are pretty good, you will be almost completely useless. It's by far the "coolest" class, but that just means a horde of terrible people already have 1. Please don't be part of the problem. Sure roll whatever, but if you want to steamroll PvP (and play classes that aren't so hard to do alright with) go Medic + Assault and just pocket your bro.

I think I'll be a medic.
I would say that you should go medic, your brother assault. They're both universally useful, and they work well together.
Can assault only be a tank? Or are they able to DPS efficiently?
Can assault only be a tank? Or are they able to DPS efficiently?
Going Demolition (Or whatever the non-tank spec is) can sometimes be a lot of fun, it can take out robo nests pretty effectively. And there is no better feeling than when 5 enemies are on a point and you throw your offhand nades + your tremor launcher nades at them and kill most if not all of them. This was mostly pre-30 in my experience. I have little experience post-30 on my assault but I expect it to be a little worse considering there will be people with better armor and will in general be smarter.
I really dont understand why everyone dislikes recon. I enjoy it for my bombcon build at a lower level. I go around placing mines on chokepoints into buildings and near objectives that we are trying to protect. Then I throw some fire bombs onto turrets and take em out after with the SMG.

All the people fresh from FPS games where the worth of a man is measured by his kill/death ratio think it's okay to either sit around sniping the occasional weakened player or run directly at the enemy slashing their sword in the air.
What is with the recon hate, in my first PvP match as one I ended up first on the scoreboard, with a ton of damage and kills (bot kills too). I capped and defended objectives too just so you won't complain.
Alright, I made a level 18 assault, which was pretty good, although boring. Left my recon at level 15 since he was shitpiss useless, as every other class can do what he does. I then made a level 18 medic, with which I had a lot of fun, poisoning enemies and occasionally healing allies, although I stopped with it due to the constant annoying bitching that I'm not healing my teammates as I can't follow them due to the *buggy* jetpack, it's totally shitnick that it's like I'm teleporting. I then made a robo which is currently level 17 which I figured was the perfect class for me, I turned around games and stuff by holding out points, it takes seven to get through my turrets. You can't blame me, it's vacation. :v: I do that in every game, I try out every class.

When I was a bombing recon I constantly topped the scoreboard in damage, kills, objective points etc.
After doing the brain-numbing, boring ass, barely-existent, poorly put together PVE and quests I finally started PVPing and I kind of like this game now. I still don't like being matchmade up with people who are twice my level but I like the feel of the game, like TF2 with a lot more vertical. I can definitely say this will keep me amused for a couple weeks, but I dunno if I am willing to drop money on it.
Add me to the list, my In-game name is RevolverOceIot ( Original, I know. ) which I am planning on changing later because it sucks ass, but I'm in need of an Agency, as I just left mine because no one is ever on.
I'm now loving robotics, I usually deploy stuff and chill in strategic points, shooting down recons and medics that come near. Of course I place my shit where they can't be touched by snipers, usually corners. One thing ruins my game though. Assaults. Those damn badass motherfuckers walk up to my turrets, through my force fields, then either melee my stations down or shoot them down with their cannons or miniguns.

Bad robotics are annoying too. Having an enemy team steamroll you on payload because none of your three robotics set up any kind of defenses is just awful.
Yeah, that's kinda the point.
It's hard to kill them when half of your team is made up of bad meleecons. Kind of ironic, as meleecons are supposed to counter the assaults, as they're pretty slow and usually just protected against ranged attacks.
Kind of ironic, as meleecons are supposed to counter the assaults, as they're pretty slow and usually just protected against ranged attacks.
There's is one thing that makes any character totally invincible against a Recon. Every character has it. The Jetpack.
