The PVE in the game feels really tacked on, but at the same time PVP feels a bit empty because they focused so much on having PVE and PVP, they should just focus on one thing so that both experiences aren't shit.
Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with conventional PvE in GA. Sure, Spec Ops isn't the most interesting thing to do but UMax runs with 3 friends (+ VoIP) can are quite fun and Raids, especially when you know all your teammates are really really good. Standard Raid got a little bit boring because of how easy it is but they fixed that by introducing DDR, it's starting to get a bit easy if you have a team of players that do know what they're doing, maybe they can add even harder version of it later.
How do you get rare drops? I haven't played much and I got elite status. I got an assault and robotics character
How do you get rare drops? I haven't played much and I got elite status. I got an assault and robotics character
When you win a PVP or PVE mission?
1.44 is out.
How do you get rare drops? I haven't played much and I got elite status. I got an assault and robotics character
You have to be "Elite Agent" to get them. Just read patch notes for 1.44 Jetpack Trails? Even more stupid flair? What is this, TF2?
I like the part where you have to buy a booster to use jetpacks just to get to the shop :suicide:
I actually like that part. Not that it's in GA but the idea itself. Instead of putting a menu "133t agents onleh!" you require a usable feature. Pretty nifty. GA is dead for me right now, pretty much like TF2 was since a while ago but I've seen the new Tribes: Ascension (previously Tribes Universe) gameplay video and now "I'm hype.", it looks like sooo much fun. Playing it in groups(guilds, agencies w/e) of oldschool Tribes players are going to kick so much ass.
Hit level 40, got my Crescent Jetpack and Inferno-X Cannon OC all in the same day. Aww yeah. :smug:
My guys name is "Username". Reserved it in the beta :\
I wonder, why is this thread in the "MMO" section? the only two somewhat MMO-ish element there is in this game is the sonoran desert and the dome (which serves as nothing more than a lobby to replace the menu, and you run around the dome to buy your stuff until you get in a mission / pvp / ava). Don't get me wrong I find Global Agenda awesome, but it's in no way an MMO.

I find Global Agenda to be pretty Massive, definitely Multiplayer and it sure is Online. Please don't confuse MMOs with PvE Drama Wankfests.
Global Agenda isn't massive in the way that other MMO's are. and most of the game is just PvP/PvE instancing.
The game world itself in global agenda is just a place you go to for something to do while you wait for your place in the queue.

It's multiplayer, and it's online, massive? I don't see why global agenda is "massive" to you.

gonna try getting myself back into this, was trying to level up my robotics so i could fuck around with the vandal boost :v:
BTW for those that don't know GA is getting a free expansion this early fall. Version 1.5 is themed around the Recursive Colony – an electronic, hive-mind faction of robots constructing robots and intruding upon the player social hub of Dome City. Notable expansion additions include: New Open Zone with several instanced missions, quest chains, mid-high level content, vendors, social spaces New enemy bots – encountered within Open Zone as well as instanced missions Daily Repeatable Quests – for solo agents and teams. Some quests take place in zones, while others send teams into Recursive Colony hive nodes and ruins. These quests include new 4-man defense Raid missions – now available to smaller groups (1-4) at lower levels (20+) New Dyes, Flair, and Trails – rewards for winning missions, completing daily quests, rare bot drops, others given via achievements New Pets – new pets available as rewards and crafted items. New Blueprints – for consumables and mods Easier crafting – components now within the zone, to help with leveling crafting skills New High/Max/UltraMax missions entering the Spec Ops queues New PvP Map – Push Dust will be entering the Merc queue from Beta New PvP Acquisition/CTR Map – Colony Caverns will be entering the Beta Queue Revamped Intro Missions – Tutorials now include class-specific elements to help train new players Some quests now affect the state of the world (example – Brownouts in Dome City…) Ability to transfer between different Open Zone instances (and VR Arena) Open Zone cross-instance chat channels Disconnect to Character Select Screen without re-login Improved Vendor Item Previewing
Creating my character names is the hardest part of this. 'Stalin' is a banned phrase and cannot be in my name.
Installing the F2P version on STEAM right now, how is it in F2P?
Installing the F2P version on STEAM right now, how is it in F2P?
It's easily accessible as a f2p up until level ~25, after this, it takes a bit too long to level up and maintain your gear (the lack of access to auction house really affects the maintain of your stuff), though gear is not as important as you'd think in GA. In short, if you like the game when you reach level 20, it's safe to say you can buy elite agent and enjoy it a lot. Don't be fooled by the questing in the desert, it's NOT the main aspect of the game, and the content is extremly generic, the game focuses on instanced PVP / PVE, not open world questing (but they will extend this and work more on it for players who enjoy this type of gaming in the next major patch). Beside, you can have a 30% coupon code if you decide to buy elite agent, it's also 50% off (not counting coupon) this week, so if you want to have at it, now's the time.
Oh god my character looks like a 40 year old accountant.
New PvP Map – Push Dust will be entering the Merc queue from Beta New PvP Acquisition/CTR Map – Colony Caverns will be entering the Beta Queue
Thank fuck, I was starting to get sick of just playing Haulin' Acid each time
Just started playing the game again, I have my lvl 26 Medic which I'm pretty sure I've played the most, a lvl 26 Assault which I've played a fair amount, mostly PvE, and a lvl 26 Robo I don't remember playing. Hum, now idea how I managed to get them equal levels. Anyway, has anyone got some decent leveling advice? Don't bother suggesting a booster.

Hum, now idea how I managed to get them equal levels. Anyway, has anyone got some decent leveling advice? Don't bother suggesting a booster.
Pvp mercenary is what earns the most experience per plays, but will earn only 1 item as reward if you're elite, 2 if you have a booster. Pve earns less experience, cash and tokens up-front, but ontop the 1-2 item per end of mission you'll earn, you also collect and keep all the component dropped from the npcs killed, which on the long run will earn you more credits. Once you're level 30+ is where they differentiate, beta queue for pvp will earn more exp, tokens, credits than conventional pvp, but is only once ever hour or so Same for raid, you'll get many components, if you have a good team (read: a team that isn't completely retarded and you'll win defense). but still not as much exp as a pvp map. And double agent is here for the fun, earning a max difficulty-setting pve mission experience if you're on attack + component + item reward, and if you're a commonwealth agent, you'll gain slightly more experience to compensate the lack of component, aswell as the end map reward items, IF you win, if you fail to defend the boss, you only gain a small sum of exp, but being a double agent and playing cooperatively with your agent / the other commonwealth elites against another team is extremely fun (the only part you'll be annoyed is when there are lamers who make a 4players premade team from the same agency, just blazing through because they're too organized against a 2man pug) In short, pvp = more exp / token / raw credit per maps | pve = less exp / token / raw credits per maps, but many components, so more credits on the long run.
Fuck, just came 3rd in AvA but then we got zerged by all the faggot agencys, got 7th place and 7k tokens. Also the agency got 4 of every epic mod.
