Turtle Beach made L4D, so maybe VALVe and TB are teaming up for L4D2: Episode One! Finally!
..Don't you mean Turtle Rock Studios?
Regarding tech, I hope there is not major delay involving the implentation with the use of Kinnect. Portal 2, got delayed, and I can not help but wonder, if there was something on Kinnect that could of been of use. Imagine at the show, getting your hands, or rather body on that, and you had to move in response to obstacles, and jump into Portals, while bending your body into juxtoposition. Also, the PS3 thing either, especially with STEAM, that and potentially I could see Portals getting shot by using the PS Move. However, I have never seen STEAM on PS3 yet, so I don't know what that was all about, and I thought the point of STEAM was to DL full games, the size of Portal 2 as a full DLC, I do not see how, because games are usually bought over PS3's own store network. As for L4D3, (some people back talking in Sony were commenting on something about only getting L4D3 and not the first two, I also heard L4D3 could take place in New York, or something, but this is just a rumor) The other thing, I know we discussed previously, is about sign language. I'm wondering if there is something there with Kinnect they wanted to be the first to show, and I can see Half-Life 2: Epiosde Three being demonstrated with that, but we are still waiting on Portal 2, maybe that had some secret changes to it, we are not aware of?

Aw Arenanet/Ncsoft isn't there. Guess there's no Guild Wars 2 news then.

Though I wouldn't want Kinect used for FPSs. Kinect is pretty cool but not exactly something I see as more than a cute little novelty for established game developers.
Also: PSN will have near nothing to do with steamworks for PS3, AFAIK it will use completely steam's pipeline and network system. (PSN is having $$ problems remember ? and that was one of the reasons why steam wasn't going to be on it originally)
Besides, PC will keep Steam. PS3 will get a modified Steamworks(only for well, updates and talking to friends maybe), and 360 won't get Steamworks(MS is focusing on GFWL, and even then, if Steamworks came to the 360, it will be only for XBL Gold, just like nearly every fucking thing, why not make Media Center extender only for paying customers MS, and while you're at it, increase the fucking cost for it, that way, I will have no reason to buy your next fucking console). Valve, I am starting to lose faith in them, no Ep3 news, and instead of showing us some info, we get DOTA2, that poker game, and Portal 2(only game I am looking forward to this year, that and ME3). If they say 3 surprises in 2011, I will say it will be updates and a new game, no Ep3 or Prospero(whatever that game was called before Half-Life).
only thing thats upset me about valve - the direction tf2 is going. those wasted updates would have been MUCH better spent on another valve game such as l4d and dod;s
Obviously they are in the list. Under Activision.
If Half-Life 2: Episode Three is not announced at this year's E3, GDC, PAX or TGS, then I will simply lose all my interest in the final chapter of the Half-Life 2 story arc.

This happened last year [editline]16th January 2011[/editline]
Valve, I am starting to lose faith in them, no Ep3 news, and instead of showing us some info, we get DOTA2, that poker game, and Portal 2(only game I am looking forward to this year, that and ME3).
only thing thats upset me about valve - the direction tf2 is going. those wasted updates would have been MUCH better spent on another valve game such as l4d and dod;s
you do realize they have different teams focusing on different games
How many of Valve's "big surprises" have been revealed yet? Maybe with that info we can determine what to expect at E3.
How many of Valve's "big surprises" have been revealed yet? Maybe with that info we can determine what to expect at E3.
That was LAST year mr 2010.
That was LAST year mr 2010.
oh my god NOOOOO!!! I lost a little bit of hope for this year. Valve better fucking surprise us.
Weren't the surprises meant to be revealed during "the next 12 months at least"? Doesn't that mean we still have enough time? :v:
Gabe walks up to podium, straightens tie, walks away.
If VALVe doesn't release a trailer for Episode 3 after Portal 2, then I'm giving up on it and assuming they're not making it. Honestly, after all this time, it HAS to be announced after Portal 2. It'll be unforgivable if they do something stupid like Left4Dead 3 or TF3. Also, lucky post #777
Ep 3 could be announced after DOTA 2 gets released
you do realize they have different teams focusing on different games
Yes. And it's obvious that the L4D team is just pissing around and earfucking eachother rather than doing anything and when they decide to do anything it has to be sequels because DLC is a broken concept (it actually is but... oh well).
Then we can say there will be no EP3 and you can say Gordon died at the end of EP2.
i know the miscommunication is for suspense, but it think they're dragging it on a bit too long.
It's pretty simple though really, they're developing the game FIRST so they don't have to deal with delays - which probably would make us even angrier in this state, maybe they've thought of announcing it before, but never got around to it because of the reason above. Either way, I hope that once they announce it they release it shortly after.

I heard they're coming with information about cs2/3 and half life 3. Don't know if it's true though.
I heard they're coming with information about cs2/3 and half life 3. Don't know if it's true though.
Counter-Strike 2 was shelved.
I heard they're coming with information about cs2/3 and half life 3. Don't know if it's true though.
half life 2 isnt even done yet
half life 2 isnt even done yet
i remember gabe/somebody mentioning that episode 3 would be longer then all of the episodes and half-life 2 combined, so it could have possibly branched into another game.
Why would you develop Counter-Strike 2 anyway? It'd recieve so little visibility in an increasingly console-orientated market, not least for the massive and undeserving popularity of the Call of Duty series. Not to mention that Counter-Strike players are so stuck in their ways that though Valve might change it for the better, it might not resonate with the current game's fans (still the most popular FPS in the world). They didn't really have that problem with TF2 because not many people played TFC compared to CS. Also, notice that Valve have never really said they're making a game called Episode Three at all... in fact in one interview, Gabe said that the "next Half-Life installment" would or should be scarier.
