A lot of you American gamers are complaining about how $60 for a game is expensive. Stop complaining. Our new games are usually upwards of $100 AUD. Now, according to our government, our economy is the best during the GFC, and our dollar value has increased.
So you get games for pretty much half price as us.

Seriously. The fuck.
You tell us to stop complaining about the high cost for games, so you guys can complain?
I'm confused as to what you hope to achieve in this thread?
On behalf of all United Stated citizens, I apologize about the high price Australian gamers must pay in order to play games?
What, you want a hug too?
Bitch where's my hug?
About 90 dollars per game here in Finland. It's actually pretty cheap for a new game.
You guys get more money for work, so I don't feel sorry.
You guys get more money for work, so I don't feel sorry.
Yeah but we have to pay stupid prices for internet that would compare to a 28.8k modem to you guys.
Pretty much.
Everyone start boycotting Video Game prices.
About 90 dollars per game here in Finland. It's actually pretty cheap for a new game.
No, it's not cheap. And it's over 100 usd when we're talking about console games.
Bitch where's my hug?
I would give you one, but you desecrated that poor lego head.

Fuck yeah! Everyone should do things for each other out of kindness!
Peace and love!
Or, everyone stop whining about it
Holy Crap 60 USD?! For a game? That's almost 465 HKD!
In Hong Kong its about 230~330 HKD. However sometimes games get "old" so I got IL2 (the entire pack) for 10 HKD and UT3 for 50 HKD however turns out UT3 was mislabeled, but hey you pay whats on the price tag that's the law.
Generally Americans coming to Hong Kong will spend ALOT of money simply because they think its "cheaper". What you can't get in Hong Kong just go up to China and buy it there. lol
BTW, I heard games bought in Russia on Steam can not be played anywhere else, is this true?
PS3 games in Ireland are about the equivalent of 90 dollars, Xbox probably about 75-80, not too sure about PC games, haven't bought one since :sigh: Left 4 Dead, a hideous 50 euro down the shitter.
average aussie salary is more than that of usa's, so yes it's more expensive if you do a straight conversion, but is it really more expensive? genuine question.
With the prices in mind, our average salary should be nearly double yours.

Oh hey you're back. Didn't recognize you without the smiling noob as your avatar.
I live in America. Hurray.
Australians are still paying around the same price, their moneyz are worth less so they have to pay more of them.

60.00 USD = 64.6812 AUD
No, we are not still paying around the same price, not even close.
Ok I should probably change thread title to "Everywhere except america's video game prices suck.
Actually, Canadian prices are some of the best. $50 CAD for a PC game, $70 for most console titles.

Rated myself dumb, i got confused.
You know, if I could, I would set up a service where you could buy games with Australian currency (at the same rate as american dollars) and I would ship them to you for the same price that the game would go for in America.
The prices are high in Australia? I guess once you get used to it, it seems alright.

Compared to the rest of the world, yes, they are ridiculously high.
Fucking hell, whopty do COD:MW2 cost $120-$140 AUD.
Get a fucking job and stop fucking whining. (Yes, i live in australia).
wooh, Australian gaming ghetto
Not only do our games cost more but they get released later than in america and half of them get banned anyway.

if your food cost 60 dollers, while the rest of the world was around 20. I bet you'd care, infact i bet people would start rioting. maybe many people don't know how much they are being ripped off, and thats why no one is doing shit.
Know what, a riot sounds fun.
As long as I can still pick up old/unpopular games for 20 AuD a piece, I see no problem.
With the prices in mind, our average salary should be nearly double yours.
us average = 30kish
aussie average = 60kish
that is what I remember from yesterday or whenever the fuck it was i posted that
hmm DK isn't bad for prices, well ok, console games start at 80-90$ but pc games are at a fair price, close to 45-55 at new. steam doesn't sell well here because of the "LOL DOLLEAR=EAURO" so i retail my stuff. i can get L4d2 for about 35% less than at steam.
anyway, our prices are okay, it's not like we save up for years and years to get a new game.
At least it's not Brazil, where games costs 125-150 dollars
that must suck :frown:
