"Official" yet in the OP he's bitching about how it will look worse, even though it won't.
Yeah I was not a fan of the Nanosuit 2 when they first showed it, it looks ridiculous.
Inengine shots.
Inengine shots.
It always looks awesome in the screenshots, I'll wait to see real gameplay before judgning. Also what were they thinking when they made the midget nano-suit?
I don't really care about the suit, I can't wait for sdk because city assets = awesome
"In-engine" doesn't really represent "in-game" very well at all. I could go and make an awesome Garry's Mod screenshot without any Photoshop editing and it would look a shit-ton better than Half-Life 2 but just because it's in-engine doesn't mean it's replicable in an in-game environment.

If you can do it in-engine, you can do it in-game. But fps would be horrible with such quality.
Crysis 1 turned shit as soon as the aliens started appearing
Crysis 1 turned shit as soon as the aliens started appearing
Yea, hopefully they make a minor appearance in this game.
Inengine shots.
... All of the released screenshots are PRE RENDERED. It doesn't mean shit.
Stop hotlinking FFS
Why does it matter if I hotlink? Ignore it.
Why does it matter if I hotlink? Ignore it.
Maybe because we can't see the pictures.
Maybe because we can't see the pictures.
This
This
Oh well then say that, I didn't know.
the suit is actually better than the first proportions-wise. it looks like someone can actually wear that suit as opposed to being some sort of autonomous humanoid muscle robot
No problems! :)
Those images are rendered I know. But if those images are really from in-game screenshots, I gotta admit, I highly doubt that my card (295 GTX) would even go more than 30+ FPS at high (most probably) This game has Killer Graphics !!!!
You're dumb as shit. The consoles are getting a visual downgrade so that it will run, it doesn't affect PC at all. It's just more optimized. If you're going to make an official thread for a game, do it right.
Nope, you're wrong, Crytek is dumbing it down on PC so it will run better on the average computer. [editline]06:06PM[/editline]
"official" yet in the op he's bitching about how it will look worse, even though it won't.
look at the fucking videos.
Yeah yeah they supersampled the fuck out of it and used higher res textures so it looks smooth, who cares, are you guys using your eyes to look at this shit? There's realistic sunlight reflections from the windows on the street. They have global illumination in CryEngine 3 and they're probably gonna damn well use it. They have deferred rendering with anti aliasing. This is the most awesome graphics card melting thing I've ever seen. They have non-shitty bloom, heck I think maybe it's a lens flare simulation. The shaders are nice and pretty and there's pretty nice detail far into the background.... damn. I mean... Dayum.
Thank you BmB for responding appropriately to the amazing screenshots we're seeing. It's really annoying hearing people complain that Cryengine 3 has been "dumbed down" for the consoles... Most likely those who have used the editor in Cryengine 2 will remember the nifty rendering feature that Cryengine supports. The above shots are obviously rendered using that technique, which means that YES they are in-game shots, but with the caveat that they are rendered at extremely high resolutions so that the image can be supersampled and therefore look really nice. Real screenshots from the game/engine running at maximum settings are going to look just like this, but with more aliasing. And because it has been driving me crazy, I'd really like to point out that Cryengine 3 is in no way a step backwards from Cryengine 2. It's an extremely well optimized version of Cryengine 2 with a global illumination implementation and bunch of other cutting-edge technology. On a really fast computer it will be incredible looking, there's no doubt. The whole selling point of the engine is that it automatically scales all of the super high-res textures and other graphical features so that it can run on consoles. In other words the PC version of Crysis 2 will have very high resolution textures because personal computers have enough vram to support them, while the ps3 and 360 versions of Crysis 2 will have automatically lower resolution textures so that the game is still playable with the limited ram that the consoles have. Nothing is being scaled down on the PC, it is just automatically scaled down specifically for the consoles. This technology is going to mean that any game developed on Cryengine 3 will not suffer from the "console port" problems that pc games have been having recently. It's GOOD for pc gamers. We get to keep our beloved superior graphics...

Will there be more game ruining aliens in Crysis 2?
"It has been confirmed that it will be on the consoles, which means that the CryEngine 3 looks worse than the CryEngine 2." no it doesn't, retard.
Yeah, broo20 as much as i know you have experience with games (I know him in RL) you are wrong with this crysis 2 thing. The video was comparing crysis 2 on console to the pc version of the game and as we all know PC's often have better GrAfIx then consoles. Also after reading what you said about the game being "dumbed" down for average computers all the game is doing is including more levels of detail.
Nope, you're wrong, Crytek is dumbing it down on PC so it will run better on the average computer. look at the fucking videos.
You should really learn to check your sources. And no youtube is not a good source unless it is from the official crytek channel.
It has been confirmed that it will be on the consoles, which means that the CryEngine 3 looks worse than the CryEngine 2.
Good thread until this. Seriusly, are you just trolling or are you really that stupid? [editline]12:27PM[/editline]
look at the fucking videos.
I see videos showcasing Indirect illumination and a powerful editor. What the fuck are you watching? (click it) Using the command e_screenshot = 1, you can take a screenshot that's incredibly big, then shrink it down to a more common resolution. The result is an image with more detalil than a standard screenshot, but it's still in-engine. (it's supposed to be 1680 x 1050, but tinypic rescaled it.)
[img_thumb]http://i48.tinypic.com/2s0gwns.png[/img_thumb]
I'm sorry, but this looks pretty shitty
Holy fuck city environment I loved the 1st crysis... I can't wait for this one.
