DLCs and crap? I'm guessing no map editor.
And modding is going to be impossible to make people pay for DLC.
Too sad that there will be no Frank Klepacki's song.
A guy from local Slovak game server, hardcore CnC fan, added this very music to G2 trailer. Fits perfectly. EDIT: Obviously, they can't even make proper trailer without Klepacki.
Frank would gladly sign on to do any work on the soundtrack. It's just a matter of them asking.
I hope they keep the same feel that Generals had with the camera shaking with the explosions and units flying off the screen.
Technical explosion already seems kinda weak, but at least they decided to keep the frontflip.
I loved how Stealth Bombers' bunker busters could make tanks fly like 20 feet
Tried replaying some zero hour and had a go on the general challenges. Oh god tank general shut up please shut up for like 2 seconds you made 2 battlemasters thats not a tidal wave of tanks just please be quiet.
ahhahahhahaa I just remembered the screaming you hear when a technical blows up in generals. I used to laugh my ass off at that screaming for some reason. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Seemingly awesome game, too bad it's published by EA.
TANKS, BUILD MORE TANKS!
Did General Fei (Infantry General) and Juhziz (Demolitions General) even have their own generals challenges?
Did General Fei (Infantry General) and Juhziz (Demolitions General) even have their own generals challenges?
All did and once you finished all the normal ones you went against General Leang who had stuff from all factions. At least I think both Fei and Juhziz had challenges
All did and once you finished all the normal ones you went against General Leang who had stuff from all factions. Juhziz did get a fan made challenge in Shockwave Mod though, which used the official unreleased audio, not sure if they also did one for Fei as well
Looks like Company of Heroes finally get a competition?
Looks like Company of Heroes finally get a competition?
Completely different types of RTS games. The only really direct competition for generals was Act of War imho.
I've always felt the gameplay in all C&C games was "turtle and build more superweapons," which I didn't enjoy. I mean, for the cost of two tanks you could get a nuke, that fires for free every five minutes.

Also arent' static, don't cost power and can withstand a few alpha aurora hits (just spazz all over the map)

Maybe I was just playing it wrong, but that's what every online game was. That and GLA rushing.
You guys DO understand that music for C&C: Generals and Zero Hour was not produced by Frank Klepacki, right?
minigunners fucking everywhere Hi air units did you think you courd viorate GRORIOUS REPUBLIC OF CHINA'S AIRSPACE?
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/337524 [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] IIRC there was a part on the minigunner in there.
But then you're turtling, making it really hard to get to that nuke. Maybe I was just playing it wrong, but that's what every online game was. That and GLA rushing.
Really in most cases, a superweapon went down far too fast. Most factions could deal with with the use of two abilities (the US could finish it off with an aurora run to boot) and the GLA just didn't care since they were sprawled out by tunnel networks everywhere anyway. And the demo general could just suicide it as well. Turtling in generals was not the most viable strategy. I mean there were small things you could do, like using a ranger to link a massive turret line to hit stuff way out of range, but that was just about it.
How about Battlefield 3 as RTS :v:
Only if these tactics are available to hero units.
What a shame that they scrapped the good old units looks again. The same thing happened when CnC Tiberium wars came out, I thought they'd go for Renegade units, they went super-sci-shit-fi. Looks like it with Generals 2 too.
Mapping and modding has a chance of surviving. Also, ill only buy this game if its on steam and, since Bioware Victory is making it it won't fail like C&C4.
