If you like lobby based games, try World of Tanks and NavyField for some different but good online games. Not MMO's in the real sense though.
i'm having shitload of fun with 9Dragons. Since they moved from Acclaim to GameFirst
Try lord of the rings online. Its free to download and play now, but for certain things (like getting higher level stuff quick, or 5 slots and the ability to fully access trade you have to pay around 10-20 pound. Also, you can buy some quest packs or take the long route and earn them through gameplay)
Uncharted Waters Online. It's free! Pretty decent game lots of shit to do. If you liked the old SNES games you'd liked this too.
Champions Online is now free.
Fun - Free - MMO Pick two.
Fun and Free are invalid unless you have a really good imagination. Try Champions Online or Runescape. Allods will be a big dissapointment when you reach max level and you can't do any endgame stuff without paying for the equivalent of AT LEAST 6 months of WoW.
Try Runescape. Seriously. Runescape may have been better before, and it has a bad reputation, but it's probably the best free MMO around. The free part will sustain you long enough to decide if you want to keep playing, and if you want to you can get membership for as low as $2.50 a month. EDIT: I have quit by now yeah, but I had over 1000 hours clocked. I'm recommending it because from a new player standpoint its a great game to play.
HGHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAH HAHSHSADHAAHHAHAHAHAHAH......... ......HAHAHAHAHSHADSHFGHAHSHDAHAHAH LOL fucken nerde
i was going to start playing runescape finally after listening to a bunch of twelve year olds fag-festing about it. then i saw that you can only do 20 quests for free before you have to pay for it. Its advertised as the Worlds largest free mmo but you still, inevitably, have to fucking pay a monthly fee. monthly fees are bullshit and i refuse. then before i started flaming i exited the browser and returned to softendo where i played mario. for free.
Firstly yes there isn't many free quests. But quests in Runescape are much longer than quests in most mmos. They take quite a while to complete and have decent storylines. Yes there is a pay option. But you can play the game forever without paying a penny. It's not like they are making you pay for vital items in the game like a few other free mmos, it's just for extra stuff. [editline].[/editline] I haven't played many free mmos as I was kept content with WoW for years. But from what I have played, Guild Wars and Runescape are both very fun games. Guild Wars has the initial fee for the copy of the game. Which is cheap now. But it is well worth it, the community is not what it once was, but there is still many people active on the game, it's no where near dead. It's really fun for questing, they are more interesting to play through than WoW imo. The PvE and PvP aspects are both pretty good too. The only thing I don't like so much is the endgame PvE, it's good, but I'm used to WoW, which imo is more fun. It's well worth a try if you have a few £/$ to spare to purchase one of the campaigns. Runescape is also fun to play in free play. Just note that if you become and member, then say you stop playing, then come back to it and play free play, it's boring as. But free play itself as I said above is pretty endless, and there's a lot of fun stuff to do. You've just got to accept the dull combat and enjoy the other aspects of the game. Another one is LotRO, which I have yet to try. I am about to though, going to download it pretty soon, but I've heard it's pretty good for free play. Again like Runescape it has the pay option for extra stuff, but it isn't vital.
Lord of the Rings Online has the best "F2P" model I've seen yet, and it's a very fun game.
Runes of Magic is good and you don't really need cash shop items until AFTER you've hit max level and even then you can still buy them with gold.
Champions online...
Im going to reccomend a few that are "Out of the box" Voyage century online-Ship combat and exploration, explore all of europe and asia. Haven and Hearth-Sandbox mmo where you can do what you want. Wurm online-3d version of haven and hearth
Spiral Knights are great. Closed beta, but PM me and I'll send you an invite.
Wait a month or two for APB:Reloaded.
Who wants to set up a Mad GOD party with me ?
You're so poor you can't afford 2.50? Am I supposed to feel sorry for you or what? There's over 100 hours of free content in the game I'm sure. You don't have to make yourself look like a prissy little bitch, because believe it or not developers need money and when MMOs are giving you over 100 hours a month where the hell else are you going to get that kind of entertainment for TWO DOLLAR FITTEH.
The free version sucks, and it's $5.99 a month. Research before posting please.
The free version sucks, and it's $5.99 a month. Research before posting please.
you can buy membership pins from people for 2.50$ or even lower research before posting please
