It's because Jax became FotM. And Jax is countered by Malphite so Malphite became FotM. And people think Rumble counters Malphite so now he's FotM (He honestly doesn't straight-up counter a Malphite at all but he's strong in a large number of top lane match-ups so he's expanding). Her slow attack speed is negated with the shred items and her skills still wreck because base damages. Also that AA range. (I do play her AP normally but sometimes I get bored of that)

I've never actually understood how to build shred since I never play it. What do you suggest instead?

Ugh I wanna play ranked to see if I can raise my ELO to gold/plat before Season 2 ends, But I don't want to lose to things outside of my control. I'm fine with losing because we got outplayed but I don't want to lose because my team is full of re-re's that don't even try and when they do they're still terrible.
