DotA is still stuck in 2006 with their design, all they tried to do was cater to the old WC3 players and they really didn't update much of anything overall. It's way too punishing to play.

god dammit riot, I want to play lee sin
then go play him
then go play him
*land sonic wave* *cast resonating strike* *give first blood because game made you freeze in place for a half hour* yaaaaaay lee singah [editline]29th June 2012[/editline]
Yeah but a get-out-of-jail free card [sp]FLASH[/sp] is so much more fun.
I prefer the annoyance of Flash (It used to be retarded before, it's honestly fine now) to the way DotA just straight up kills you for the smallest of mistakes. And not just you, but your game/team. Out of position? Stunned for five seconds while the enemy team lays down a thousand damage per person. Died more than three times in lane? Hope you enjoy being six levels and about a million gold behind everyone. Enemy team lock in a ganking hypercarry? Yep.

Very annoying when I try to gank. Also on the topic of DotA, who the hell are you playing and who are you playing against? Also dying 3 times in lane in DotA is just as likely to happen as it is in LoL. Use wards and pay attention to your position. Just being on your side of the river alone keeps you in a good position in the laning phase. Siv HD just posted this a little while ago. He brought up an interesting, yet annoying, concept to a support. I could never pull this off. I'd be dead constantly. I don't think the whole thing would work out to well because of the enemy aoes. Almost every champ has one. What do you guys think?
that actually makes sense but I doubt it works well, I'm going to try it at some point though
That idea sounds hilarious. And bad. But so hilarious. Where does he get these ideas?
genius
If you think about it you can pull this off with other champs too. Like Fizz or Janna.
If you think about it you can pull this off with other champs too. Like Fizz or Janna.
Yeah but Hecarim is huge.
It's not about dying or not dying, it's about the ramifications as a result of it.
I'd still argue it's about the same. Dying to Tiny isn't as bad as dying to Drow, just as in LoL dying to LeBlanc isn't as bad as dying to Vayne. The only difference is the scaling difference between a DotA carry vs a LoL carry. Midgame you're still just as behind in DotA as you are in LoL.

What the fuck is going on? The patch is saying it's going to take half an hour to apply.
Hey guys! Lately i've been tempted to try out a game such as LoL or HoN. But i can't really decide which one to try out. Is LoL "easier" to learn or HoN? I wanna learn the mechanics and have fun. What do you guys think i should pick?
LoL is easier to pick up
the first time I played HoN I was confused as fuck "these minions have green health bars, why are they attacking me?"
LoL is easier to pick up
Alright, i'll try it out. Thanks.
The first time I played HoN I got creamed because I didn't know what role the heroes were suppose to fulfill. Not to mention there was so much shit going on and some times I didn't even know I died because I was used to the "YOU HAVE BEEN SLAIN" + your screen going grey in LoL.

It's harder to pick up, the HUD forces you to dig around for the information you need, and just plain fails to teach you how to play. League gives a proper tutorial and has a bot game environment where you can spend time learning. The community is also not filled with elitist jerks that will shun you for not knowing how to play on your first game. Also if you're at all thinking about HoN, DotA 2 is going to be free to play when it comes out and it's overall the same game delivered in a much more readable and more rewarding fashion. The color around the health bars indicating whether they're ally or enemy is a freaking pixel thick and I got ganked by someone I thought was an ally on more than one occasion. I had to play like 10 games to get used to the HUD, let alone the game. DotA 2 was 10x easier to get into honestly. Store is way more streamlined and I can actually tell who is on my team and where they are.

Dota 2 is by far better than HoN anyway LoL is casualized version of Dota. Less multitasking, simpler spells, easier to last hit, no hard counters, forgiving, no "weird" strategies like pulling, stacking etc. so start with LoL But please try Dota 2 one day because it's my favorite moba at the moment.

[editline]29th June 2012[/editline] although dota 2 converts you into a raging angry gamer seriously have you seen the dota 2 thread
