I started actually paying real attention to the patch notes and new champions only in the last few months.

I never payed attention to when they added champions before, but it seems like they kinda went into overdrive lately.[/QUOTE] it's a never ending cycle. riot makes new champion, hypes it up like crazy, people who don't want to farm ip buy it with riot points (because it's always 6k or 4k), then either it dies off in popularity and everyone forgets about it, or it becomes the next 'op' champ. after a week or so, people who still want the champ have already gotten it, and the next one is packaged and set out to the game after 2 weeks. rinse and repeat, riot gets loadsamone

If Riot wanted to make a new map asap, they can't just tell the champion design guys to drop what they're doing and help work on a new map.
