Should I get Kassadin now or save up for Volibear? Based on their overall usefulness, rather than the role I'm trying to fill with em'.

Kassadin sucks in draft and voli is pretty strong but is generally considered boring despite being pretty fun
Edit: I should clarify, Kassadin is bad because he's one of the easiest champions to counterpick and it's actually a pretty damn easy lane to win against him, so in general he's okay but in draft where you can be countered he's fuckin terrible unless you're using him to counter someone else, at which point they might just send their top lane to mid to shit on you

I'm around 1100 and even when he's unbanned nobody picks him, even if he really counters the mid the other team's chosen.

Just went a 4 vs 5 with no jungler or ad carry and won.
I was rammus and decided after mundo left the game that I would roam.
So:
rumble solo top
zyra solo mid
taric solo bot
rammus roaming (didnt cs unless it was to clear minions under the turret or push)
These guys are absolutely awful, THE AD SHACO AND AD PANTH FOCUSED ME WITHOUT ME HAVING TO USE MY TAUNT ON THEM, I USED IT ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY ON SIVIR DURING TEAMFIGHTS AND THEY ATTACKED ME TOO LOL.

I dunno, I have 100 more wins than loses for some reason, despite the retards as well. I'm not even sure when or how my ratio got up that high.
Oh god I had a game with a 40 minute lane phase. I was playing riven against a shen and he got enough armor that he was actually winning every trade. So for those entire 40 minutes, every time we fought, it took us a good 30 seconds to chip off 1/4 of each other's health bars. Since neither of us could hurt each other, and their jungler got sick of ganking me thanks to wards and retarded bunnyhopping, we spent the whole game farming.

Eh I also love to goof off in normals, bots arent responsive enough for me to test random builds and strategies. I love breaking the meta.
Example, I built an attack speed nautilus jungle. Surprisingly effective if your team already has strong tanking potential.
The one above is a more reasonable one but other times I will go a little more adventurous and often they end badly. This doesnt mean I am specifically trying to make my team lose or even troll, it is more my craving for fresh air on champions that have become stale to me.
I am kind of surprised my w/l is even that close, I would've expected way more losses in comparison to wins.
(ranked and premade drafts are a completely different story, I dont dick off in those. I know some of the fp members can agree with this that I have played with.)

Smartcasting is like Karthus Q but for other abilities.
Meaning you just click the skill once
Smartcasting is only bad if you aren't used to the champion and don't know their range. It's also more speed over accuracy, and really it's just more personal preference.
then again, my first champ was urgot, whose Q is smartcast anyway. From there, I read somewhere about smartcast and now I can't go back. Can't even use smartcast range indicator or whatever it is.

Personally, I have my ultimate and summoner spells always smartcasted.
As for the other abilities, I decide for each champion differently. For example, I have ezreal E on smartcast and Graves E not, so basically I decide if I would be comfortable with it or not.
You can do some serious havoc with smartcast, especially with burst champs.
When I play Darius, I'm able to do the whole E-AA-W-Q-R combo in less than a second, which secured me A LOT of kills, simply because people couldnt flash away fast enough.
Better and easier to understand example would probably LeBlanc, where she does her whole combo without people being able to react fast enough because she would be already gone.
That reminds me, I don't have Graves Q on smartcast, since I cant really judge the cone range and wideness, but I do have his ultimate on smartcast for quickness's sake.
I've experienced that you have to be fast with everything, people won't be out of positiong for long or your enemy will simply turn the fate around because you're to slow.
It's for the sake of being able to act fast enough. If Taric stuns someone, he wont be stunned forever and his teammate is going to rush to help him, so the longer you wait, the worse the situation is going to get for you, and your enemy has the chance to turn it around, but if you use all your skills in less than a second, your enemy won't be able to react, either because the stunned target is VERY low health or dead, which would leave the other guy 1v2 and not being able to do anything.[/QUOTE]

If I'm not sure whether or not the hook will land, I just click the spell to see the range.
One of my most recent games as blitzcrank had a point where I was running to my tower and I noticed the enemy soraka still chasing me. I was only focused on escaping, but on the spur of the moment I decide to turn around and attempt a long range Q. Had I not had smartcast on it wouldn't have worked. Instead it did work and I got a neat kill.

Even with blitz if you've played him 10-20 times you should be pretty damn used to his ranges, the range indicator is actually slightly smaller than the actual range too (for latency reasons or something but its definity slightly bigger than the indicator)
it usually takes 10 minutes for me to get used to ranges, and I always smartcast everything
