I've bought far too many 6300 IP champs with RP instead for this reason.
I've finally forced myself to start saving and have ~4300IP right now, I play a couple games a day to get my win of the day in
I've done the same and I'm at 5544 IP and I have never bought a boost
I have all the champions that I want. Currently at about 25,000 IP without buying boosts.

and it's not like i could spend my ip on anything else, got all the runes i need and i play enough to afford every new champion that comes out

Well crap. My win streak is over because Zyra on my team felt the need to play support with Twitch on bottom lane. But it was okay because they were duo queuing.
And since I was jungle it was my fault that they had scores of 1/6 and 2/7 at the end of the laning phase, some how.
It's always the junglers fault.
I think zyra does have a role as a non healing support like blitzcrank does, they were just bad
She forced our Leona mid.
Cho'Gath is my new favorite champion, solely for the reason that he counters Yorick
