She already doesn't function in the same means as the last Kat. She has a button mash W, her E is weak as shit and has more than double the cooldown, and her Q is bouncing Akali Q that can't reduce healing which is what made it awesome. Her ult also scales less and gets reduced 10 seconds per kill/assist as opposed to 15.

It was fun playing her and overcoming weaknesses to do well. But whatever, have fun with your new champ that's just like the others. Kat players aren't happy about this but fuck them. I'd like to actually get a full ult off more frequently. I'd like another form of damage other than bouncing blades + throwing myself into the enemy so I can be stronger without my ult. I will STILL very much enjoy zipping around the battlefield while throwing blades if the opportunity presents itself. I WANT them to get rid of her glaring weaknesses so she can be better, more reliable. I really, really don't understand why you've got this stick up your ass.
