Dota 2 bots sound fun, I'd love to try playing against them.. If I had Dota 2 to begin with.
I still have no idea on how to get into that game
I've seen the pathfinding bug out and keep recalculating, giving the "getting stuck" bug. They don't have a failsafe for how they determine where they go, so if the circumstances permit it, they'll keep recalculating to go to the same place through two different directions. Generally it gets fixed pretty fast when an enemy champion shows up near them, but it's still an interesting oversight.
A simple failsafe would be if the pathfind to the same spot calculates two different routes very quickly without any noticeable progress that they just stay on one path for 2 seconds, it would fix it, at least temporarily until they redo the entire pathfinding system for the AI.
Buy a beta key online for about 10 bucks or wait until it releases, think it was supposed to be f2p?
I play against bots basically exclusively, because I'm a huge coward and don't want to get yelled at for a slip-up, and I'd honestly kill if they could scrape together some extra AI features and ramp up the difficulty and add an 'expert' level for them. I've gotten to where now I play mostly intermediate, and they've gotten fairly easy to outplay, provided the rest of my team isn't completely retarded and doesn't feed them like crazy.
Shit beta keys are selling?
I've given away like six of them in the past month or so.

Man up and start playing the real game. Bots are only there to teach you how to play.

buying a dota beta key at this time? wat
I don't like the idea of buying something that soon will be free but ehh whatever.
bots in both games have really set behaviors, they might have good reaction times but they tend to only focus one target instead of a group (literally all 5 of them going after a carry while the other 4 wail on them) towerdive early game, things you easily take advantage of, instead of real players where they are unpredictable
That's exactly the problem: Predictability. It's something that is 100% unavoidable in arena games, be it Counter-Strike, Dota, League of Legends, Unreal Tournament, etc. Eventually you'll identify their patterns, even subconsciously, and it'll give you the illusion of getting better at the game while you're actually only playing to counter AI.

Well im not actually sure how the situation is now or when it releases but last time i checked, earlier this summer they were still sold
Speaking of bots I was just playing one to practice nidalee, I was mostly wandering around ganking the bots and getting most of the kills going 18/1, they proceed to rage at me for ksing even though lux stole my kills all the time with her ult. Lux and varus get killed pushing top and they instantly surrender jesus christ I'm glad they don't play normal.
TSM TSM TSM
Jesus christ I just saw a lvl 26 with 39 Normal Wins (for comparison I am 27 and have 126 wins)
is playing with bots really that fucking fun or something?
I dunno but I've seen the same thing, it's worrying because those people will have absolutely no clue what they're doing when they get into their first games.

Wait, people lose to bots?
You guys are fucking lucky for not having those inhumane cruel fucks they call bots in dota2
[editline]12th August 2012[/editline]
And I play with them on Passive difficulty
I play bots on Normal and they're not so hard to deal with, but are way better than League bots (or at least I am not familiar/good enough with dota to see how easy they are)

It can't be helped, pretty much every single PvP game at the level 1-15 range is smurfed heavily and just full of assholes.

These SENTINELS THEY ARE FUCKING AMAZING.

The thing is you'll be farming or something and then they'll 5 man teleport botlane to gank your shit chainstunning you for 10 seconds
The leauge bots are good because the point of training vs bots isnt to show how bad you are but actually help you learn and try out new things which imo is what its intended for
Hence why those faggots who are level 30 with 10 normal wins and 1k custom game wins are godawful
In case you dont who SGS is, have this video
Wait, people lose to bots?
I actually genuinely lost to bots one :(

We really can't say for sure how high the smurf rate is, though.
SGS played well but tbh I think everyone expected TSM to win.
A shame I guess. They kinda showed SGS as the underdogs by showing their family and friends giving them support.
I want to see SGS pull out of the Lower bracket and reach the finals. That was an amazing match overall, you never see a team go balls to the wall against an enemy team that has Baron, but fuck if they didn't. They played really well, it just sucks they're down and out because of that awful play from yesterday.

Man up and play pvp. Playing against bots is boring.
in that teamfight reginald just kind of left and I thought TSM was fucked after that but they were pushed to hard to do anything I guess

developers are rarely good at their own games, true story
Wait, people lose to bots?
Lost in the strictest sense that we officially lost but the match was no where near lost but they're the biggest group of retards I've ever played with on LoL.
