I took heal 'cause Leona doesn't have that kind of sustain. I was hoping he'd take Heal too to make up for that slack, but Ignite worked out well anyways. Exhaust would've been better of course.

Ignite + flash is to counter people with heal + flash, it also provides significantly more killing power for bursty champions like Graves or Tristana, heal was also nerfed

Flash + Ignite is becoming more standard for ad bot lane due to it's usefulness all game.
It's mainly used on aggressive carries such as Graves, Tristana and Ezreal right now.

but you cant play that aggressively when you have no escape mechanism, unless your team has as many wards as it should

Naw, you want to be using Smite + Flash on junglers, too, unless your pick already has absurd escape mechanisms/mobility (Lee Sin, Shaco) or lacks CC to do ganks (Shyvana, Mundo, Yi)

Whether the jungler needs smite or not, looking at you Nunu, they should still take it to secure buffs and objectives.

Also, Hecarim's passive is a great reason to take ghost over flash.

its dependent on the champ most of the time unless they're a jungler, who should ALWAYS take smite because not only does it allow them to clear the jungle faster, but it allows them to steal enemy buffs

it's mostly for securing your buffs and dragon/baron
