I'm 17, my house has similar rules. I came up with a foolproof solution though: if I know I might have an obligation around the house -- get this, this is a big one!-- I don't queue up for a game.

Just like how you don't queue up for a game if you're clearly having internet problems, or have something planned within the upcoming hour. A lot of people don't seem to realize that lol

My house doesn't rly have that big rules, I'm a nice kid who's not dumbass like the most (I literally mean 95% of the local teens) who spend their weekends and money on booze and parties. I sometimes phone them with grin on my face "OH YOU HAVE A HANGOVER!! SORRY FOR WAKING YOU UP AT 8 AM!!" Yes, I'm a dick like that sometimes.
