it's like telling someone to not make a movie without Hollywood funding or write a book cause noone knows who the fuck you are. Fuck loads of flash games go unnoticed everyday
A lot of people on this forum won't understand but after thinking about your view I relized the game market is going into an indie devolopment downwards spiral. Soon we will be left with crappy indie games and the elder scrolls will be no more. Call of duty will be no more. Fallout will be no more. We really have to stabalize the market once more. I gladly sighned the petition.
Mmm yes look at all this wasted work

I own quite a few of these games and they are great. I just don't see how you could hate on Indie developers when they make fun games. And thats the whole point of a game, to have fun.

We are not alts. I have another account on this forum but I am deathly afraid you will all tease me and so I wish to remain anomyas.
This is the dumbest shit I've read all year. You are posting this trash on a successful indie game forum aswell. Get out.
I'm rallying supporters against the West Indies, they ruined Cricket.
Hello alt of Voltras.
There is no causal relationship between indie budgetary efficiency and AAA developer (only some of them) cynicism and laziness.

id like to clear something up. I'm not against indie devs, just what they're doing. Most of them probably dont know the damage they are causing

Adding quality over quantity is a bad thing?

i thought i made this clear, indie cames are indirectly destroying our industry. Their success is degrading games.
Adding quality over quantity is a bad thing?
no, but like i said, there are few good indie games. People see these and get a misinterpitation of indies.

Making good games results in making bad games. :downs:
Let me tell you a long story short:
Heard of Garry Newman? He had this idea, just a small one, to make a mod for Half-Life 2.
It would have no story and no goal, it was purely imagination that would drive the player onwards.
He makes the mod and he deems it worthy of a release to the public. He listens to the people that have played and makes it better, adding features and fixing bugs.
Jump forward to 2007. GMod is released officially on Steam, for a small price.
Millions buy it and enjoy it, people make space ships, creates battlefields and film movies, all in a game that is based on one, simple, thing: Imagination.
If that ruins the industry, I'm a fucking wizard and my name is Harry Potter.

no. the succes of a few indie games brings the whole industry down

Ive never played a bad or terrible indie game. Most have their learning curves but are usually unique in the gameplay they offer. I just don't see how this is a bad thing at all, even if a large company buys them out they will incorporate these unique attributes into a larger, usually better, title.
Just look at what happened with many of Valve's games and games like The Ball and Killing Floor.

@OP, Oh god you are stupid. Please don't ever try to share your opinion again.

Winner.

but gmod is different. It requires high budget games to play it + its more of a mod, mods r different
Requires? Not really. It may be based on a high budget engine but it's still a independent game.
It's a game, a mod cannot be sold.
Oh god you are stupid. Please don't ever try to share your opinion again.
Oh god you are narrow minded, just because my opinion is different to yours does not mean everything is say is irelevent. This is not communism.
Requires? Not really. It may be based on a high budget engine but it's still a independent game.

but it DOES require a source game. Research before u post.
but gmod is different. It requires high budget games to play it + its more of a mod, mods r different
So you can't afford $20 for Half-Life 2 and $10 for Gmod. But you can afford $100 for the next fucking Call of Duty game?
no. the succes of a few indie games brings the whole industry down
No it isn't, actually it may even improve it since studios and publishers now have competition. Good Quality indie games are a benefit, not a hindrance.
The recent success of indie games has sent the wrong message to the big publishers. A more lower budget and shorter games seem to be a better business choice then a 15 hour action packed adventure.
The recent success of indie games should make big publishers more aware of the fact that innovation and originally scores. Big publishers that come up with short low budget games only don't deserve to be big, the market will eventually punish them and let them bleed to death. That's how any market works, you haven't got a single clue what you are talking about.
