I posted the bugs in-case there were some you didn't know of, no need to get angry.
Ok, thanks! It works now! :D
Ugh, I figured it's not vista, it's just that the ~ button doesn't work. I have no idea what's wrong (and 1 doesn't do anything, just writes 1) Edit: Does ANYONE have the problem where some keyboard buttons are messed up, and how do you fix it?!
This is awesome
This is very awesome, and works great when taking in notice this is a pre-alpha state release or whatever you're calling it. And yes, it works perfectly fine on Vista without noting some small bugs.
How the fuck do I even turn?
Press C.
enableConsole(false)
Where do I type that beauty? Edit: Wait! It works! YEAHHA! WOO! Thanks!
Well, nice to know it runs on some machines... Overall impression, for those that it ran for? I understand if you didn't like it, I do realize the videos made it seem like more than it turned out to be (at least for this release).
I was getting worse FPS than in Portal, but other than that I love it. Sure, it had a lot of bugs, but it's just a dev build, so I hope for a lot of bug fixes for 0.5 :) Thank you for the dev release. :D Edit: Oh, there is one bug I thought, I should report maybe: Sometimes I can't pick up portals although they are dynamic. I can move them when I take a cube and push it against one of the borders. And once a cube didn't fall through portal.
Why can't i rotate my screen, it forces it back to this default position :/
I just remebered: "We're out of beta We're releasing on time" Not really true, especially the first line, but still :v:
Newton has World space, am i right in thinking you were unable to move?
Dropped for a while and then yes.
Dropped for a while and then yes.
Bullshit. Again. Like I said, the phys cam does NOT have gravity, or any forces other than its own moving forces. There's that, and even IF you get to the bottom of the selected level "space", I've rigged it so that you return to [0,0,0].

What kind of attitude is that. Here's a screenshot of me standing in nothingness: Here's another one, the cubes are spazzing around everywhere inside the portal in this case (I guess because of where the portal is). Sorry nullsquared, but so far, I have lost fate in this project. The videos looked promising, and now you release it, after it was so neat for you, and it provides nanoseconds of amusement followed my minutes of annoyance. Remove the Smoke ball, it's a lag machine. Change the keybinds yourself, you're the Dev. make portal creation better, I shoot at a wall and it appears across the room. give us a beta of where you were actually first-person of a character, not this floating around really slow movement bullshit.
Remove the Smoke ball, it's a lag machine.
What GPU? Doesn't lag one bit here.
Change the keybinds yourself, you're the Dev.
The key binds are scripted. They're meant to be customized per-user. I've customized them for myself - if you don't like them, get some fucking balls and edit test_lua.lua. Really not that hard, especially since all you have to do is find "bind" and change the key.
make portal creation better, I shoot at a wall and it appears across the room.
It's not portal creation, its portal placement by a ray cast. This is not shooting portals, this is simply an easier way for me to place portals when testing.
give us a beta of where you were actually first-person of a character, not this floating around really slow movement bullshit.
No. This is my test environment.
Sorry nullsquared, but so far, I have lost fate in this project. I appreciate those who see it as it is and understand the situation, but the rest of you... First, you fucking pressure me into releasing a fucking DEVELOPMENT BUILD, which I SPECIFICALLY said was NOT 100% "ready", or a "public alpha", or anything of the sort. It's FUCKING CRAPPY, get the fuck over it. For fucks sake, then, you all complain about how I'm taking too long and then you complain again when you get a fucked up, under developed release. Did I not mention I AM NOT VALVE? I'm a fourteen year old kid in middle school, and I have other things to do than to program the whole time. And when I take my time on something, it's usually for a good cause.

And that's exactly what you got. You didn't get any more than what you saw in the video. Originally he wasn't going to release it at all until 0.5. Now I can see why.
You should direct those comments to Kinglah Crab, Null not everyone is complaining,I ain't complaining about anything.Just because Kinglah Crab complains about things doesn't mean everyone else does.

I'm a teenager that's why I release shitty dev builds
I'm not totally pissed with this project, but null should have released the version as the first-person character. Edit: Oh yeah, and didn't null make lights in the videos? Maybe I didn't read the readme right...

We programmers got to stick by each other in the case of crappy builds
Incredibly nice.
Man, some of you guys are proper assholes. This is a pre-alpha development build, not the final released version of the game! Sweet merciful Raptorchrist. I can't understand how you can't appreciate the great technology at display here. Are you really 14? Sure you haven't moved some numbers around? :P I'm 17, and I can't even begin to comprehend the sort of black magic you must have employed. Anyway. Great work, nullsquared! Keep up the fantastic work!
Shitastic! Making up words is fun. Can't wait for tech demo.
Yup, that's strong bad alright. Also, can't wait to play it! This is so awesome...
Now null, I know you put ALOT of work into this, but why even release this? You could have atleast made it somewhat playable, given it first person with a player model like you used in the videos. Good work on the programming nonetheless.

How can you drop when you are always in the air? Edit:
Now null, I know you put ALOT of work into this, but why even release this? Most of us, including myself have enjoyed playing with it how It is and still are. That might be because we listen when he says "THERE ARE A LOT OF BUGS DON'T MOAN ABOUT IT"
Null, great programming, but guys, please, stop complaining. Null has been working pretty fucking hard on this and you were all begging for a release, you got one, and now you are mad at him because it is just a DEV RELEASE not even an alpha. Just wait for a release you are happy with and stop bitching about it. You want it different, you code it yourself.
It won't work for me. I changed up some stuff, and it crashed, so changed it back to default, and it crash with a different error. I think I can solve it, but later. Apparently I need DirectX 9. :downs:
Yep, it crashes for me as well, i just don't have any clue where i can get directx 9, and even if i can, i don't think my video card will support it. Oh wait, I know where to get it. Edit: Hmm, now when I open it it flashes the black screen then closes. Edit:
20:57:06: D3D9 : WARNING - disabling VSync in windowed mode can cause timing issues at lower frame rates, turn VSync on if you observe this problem. 20:57:06: OGRE EXCEPTION(3:RenderingAPIException): Failed to create Direct3D9 Device: Invalid call in D3D9RenderWindow::createD3DResources at D:\Ogre_CVS\ogrenew\RenderSystems\Direct3D9\src\OgreD3D9RenderWindow.cpp (line 573)
My error
Doesn't crash for me, there just is no enjoyment to be had. (But as said, your programming is still awesome)
