Is there any way I can decrease the amount of lag I'm getting?
Get a new graphics card. Or turn off shadows.
And turn off AA and AF.

The graphics card i use is an ati radion 5500 and it works fine so just get the equivelent of that it to run it smoothly (doesn't support shaders though :()
I signed up on this forum just to ask this, but is there any way to disable or remove the shaders? It crashes for me due to my old Radeon 9200PRO (no SM2 support).

No idea mate. If it came with a manual look through that. (As far as I know mine didn't)
Cheers, I've had a bit of a look round to see if I can get any closer, I'll just keep trying, because it looks amazing :)
Edit:
I'm absolutely dying to try this out, but I guess I'll have to wait for some fallback support first :)
Also, I agree with all suggestions of an SVN repository, or even just a single code release, although it looks like Lua has access to most things already :P
Very cool indeed.
Like I said, I'll write fall backs. I'll also fix up the portals a bit, and finish up the gameplay mode so you can spawn as a person. We'll see what I can do today.

Amazing.
I can't wait for it, man.

Can't wait for the gameplay mode. :D
Should I delete my previous build of DirectX?
No, use the web updater I posted on the previous page, it'll install all the versions you need.
The game loads and all for me, but it seems as it does not react to my keyboard.
I can't interact with the world, still I can type in the console and exit by Esc.
And yes, I closed the console before I tried :downs:
Any suggestions?

You pressed escape to exit the console, not "~". Use "~" to exit (or enter) the console, not escape.
You have done it! Finially an invention that far surpasses the viagra!

Doesn't ESC quit the game if you have the console opened?
It exits to a dumb "test" game state. ...Which has a console. So many people think they're still doing stuff, when in fact, they're at a dumb game state instead of where they should be.
/me bows down to nullsquared
Use [[bla]] instead of "bla"
Don't work here, those brazillian keyboards...
Works fine for me on Vista. Unfortunately, it gives me a headache :( The only bug I've found so far is that exiting the console with the mouse causes it to ignore keyboard input, but the mouse still moves.
Guess I'll try to turn off shaders...
slim shaders :downs:
How do you turn off shaders and stuff so I can use my Radeon 9250.

I had that problem. Seems like you can't exit the console with the X button.
I can't exit it with ~ though, because I do not have an american keyboard.
Anyway I can bind the console to a different button?
I would imagine it would come out of itself, either resulting in a crash or the portal (if it was the same size) coming out, going out into the portal again, coming out, etc, so it was a huge square shape.
One would assume it would have a similar effect as dividing by zero.
I had a friend that divided by zero...note the past tense.

You know you can already download a test dev build and put a portal into another?
And the result is red smoke and the portal flies out of it self.
Holy sweet mother of God, that video of scalable portals blew my fucking mind. This is so gonna be in Portal 2 (providing they're actually planning that). Seriously, I'm impressed to the max!

I'm pretty sure that isn't possible in Source.
Source can do a lot of things very well, but portals isn't one of them.
Nice thing.
I like it.
nullsquared, don't mean to rush you at all and/or be annoying, but any progress on the fallbacks? I hate missing out on all the fun >.<
I saw the vid on the OP, and I have a thought:
If you were to take those portals, ans set it us so where you drop a cbue through it, it would just keeep shrinking and shrinking until your computer divide by zero?
Scary stuff.

The divide by zero joke is old and wasn't really that funny in the first place...
Uhm, can you put a portal inside a portal and make it bigger?
