That looks smexy :D Keep it up!
No offense, but things didn't work out.
I see. :raise:
So other than the portals, what will this game have?
No offense, but things didn't work out.
I guess you can forget some good models then :v:
What the fork is ambient occlusion

I'm not going to share the game play, not just yet.

You've never heard of ambient occlusion? You know, SSAO, Crysis, the awesome?

Are you going to leave in the stuff from the old "Disorder Engine" videos? (Gravity change etc)
I guess you can forget some good models then :v:
Svenstaro and I created the prototyping weapons, title room, and other props in the first couple of days.

Yes, that's part of the new game play I'm not going to mention. It's actually inspired by Crysis's weapon ability switching.
So, I had obscenely low FPS since I couldn't find where to turn off windowed mode, but I solved it by having a low resolution... Then I started portalized, typed in the console command. It looked as the map loaded, then my computers screen got turned off and my computer did the restart sound... 3 seconds later, the picture's on again and it seems to work, then it does it again. I manage to turn it off and the computer works but it's very slow. :/
Edit:
What the fuck, I restarted my comp but I can't alt+tab, everything seems slow, and browser scrolling is weird.

Crysis's looks 10x better :v: or maybe your scene just isn't as detailed or something. Anyways, you have done a great job so far.
Null, I'm looking at the SSAO pics you posted, and I suggest you to make the AO "shadows" lighter and more blurred, it actually looks like a fat outline now. At least in the OGRE heads scene.

Crysis is not an indie game.

The Ogre heads screen shot is from a while ago (and also slightly exaggerated to focus on the SSAO). The Athene model screen shot is more current.
Holy fuck, I love SSAO.
Thank you for implementing it.

I posted because I needed support, from you OR from another person, and because you STILL HAVE THE FUCKING LINK UP. IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO STOP USING IT, TAKE THE LINK DOWN!
also;
I did a nice, hard reset of the computer and now it has to check my hard drive for inconsequences yadda yadda. Damnit.
edit : Computer seems to work good now... Excellent.
This is going to be awesome when it's done. Except the scalable portals is going to make it a bit confusing.

Also, more media please :)
This is great, C S Lewis would be proud.
Just wondering, what are the levels modeled in?
Just wondering, what are the levels modeled in?
The "test level" you've been seeing all of this time was a long time ago, I don't remember. All current models and weapons done by Svenstaro are done in 3DS Max 9 and Photoshop.
I will not post media until some kind of release is up. Posting media without anything concrete down ruins the excitation.
You're probably the most talented "hobby-coder" I've seen.
And he is only 14 :o (Probably 15 by now :v:)
I'm not asking for support from the dev. This is directed at the community:
I type in dofile(dd.."test_lua.lua") and hit enter, but nothing happens. Am I doing something stupid?

Crap, I'm wondering since I'm working on/planning a game and I need a good method for modeling levels.

Did you extract all the files?
Far more innovative things come from the minds of the young than that of the minds of corporate driven individuals who care not to stray from the norm.

What exactly is innovative about this?
What exactly is innovative about this?
The parts you haven't seen.
It keeps saying I have new files or something.
>.>
EDIT: Okay, it's not doing that anymore.. but now it won't open D:
I'm on a vista with 2039 ram (kewl huh? :P) and stuff.. and I allowed the program to run.
Well, hello there.
Mine doesn't start. A window pops up for an instant, then closes.
Bump,What's the progress,null?

He stated that he wasn't going to post anymore progress :(
He's going to do a full game with it though.
