Is it just me or are the death animations fucked up?Someone shoots me in the back and I fly back and other shit like that
Crytek is in Germany and they kinda cut back on ragdolls.
Cry Engine 2 to Cry Engine 3 is a hurdle, as well as many Graphic tweaks, enchancements and improvements, especially some of the particle effects. I just hope Crytek adds some Optimization.
They changed it from Crysis, not everything is realtime now and you have to enable realtime rendering through options and/or through console.

I'll get xbl during this weekend, so I'll have to try it out then.

Just played the demo and one of the things which stood out most to me was the hit detection. Perhaps it was the server or my inability to play FPS games with a controller but half the time I should've hit I didn't and when I shouldn't have hit I did. The majority of my kills were achieved through the melee. Also pushing in the left analog stick to run is just annoying. To be honest I think B would've been better suited to run and left analog to crouch. (I understand that these are the default controls and that I can change them) Another problem I had was finding servers. I'm not sure how matchmaking works but I assume the servers with highest priorities are the closest ones. If this is the case the difficulty may have come from the fact it's 4:00AM here. I played a couple of rounds and I didn't really notice any lag with the controller. Perhaps not everyone is getting it or maybe it's too subtle to notice from a few minutes play. I plan to play it a bit more but the first thing that came to mind after I finished playing was get it on PC. This was always my intention but now I am more sure.
Oh god, this better be exclusive to the beta. I'm getting crashes whenever I load into a game, it takes forever to find a match, and the controls aren't too great. The game itself seems solid, and I trust the PC version will be godlike, but Crytek needs to get their shit together if they want the Xbox version to do good.
Does anyone know if Crysis 2 PC multiplayer uses Dedicated Servers or Host system like MW2?
I recommend Bulletstorm demo as well. Singleplayer FPS but hey can't complain.
I thought the demo sucked. [editline]25th January 2011[/editline] Also, I sliding was pretty poor for consoles. It's almost impossible to slide and shoot. Also, I don't really understand the power slam at all. Protip: Move right analog stick on the main menu to move the camera.

That game is going to be awesome for PC players.

Mainly for FearGX this is Crysis running with Realtime stuff disabled and replaced by half baked semi realtime effects. You can see the white washed look.

Not many particles like Sunlight and reflection either.
Crysis hates standard definition tvs
Ah yeah, I see what you mean. The textures look really sluggish and ugly with it off. This is higher than you'll see on Xbox though, they don't have AA enabled and instead rely solely on Software AA and medium model/texture quality.
Downloading the beta now
excitement
While the controls are very sluggish, I do commend their use of "pressure" sensitive controls.
While the controls are very sluggish, I do commend their use of "pressure" sensitive controls.
Do you guys mean controls similar to BC2 on the 360?
I downloaded em both but stopped Crysis 2 because I bought Knoxx' Armory for Borderlands. Bulletstorm is fun shit though. I'm afraid it sucks on console.
Pretty awesome demo. I wish PC got one too so I can actually play well. My skill is basically enabling armor mode, holding down the trigger with the MK60, and hoping they die. I can't hit shit with the SCAR and my aim is going all over the place trying to hit someone with the shotgun while firing from the hip. Also, wasn't there supposed to be a night time streets map as well? Not just the one on the rooftops.
So, my experience with the demo thus far. - Controls are sluggish as all hell, and I suck with console FPS games so it makes the game unplayable. - Hit detection is wonky as shit, I've gotten kill-cams where they're firing like half the screen away and kill me. - Some other just general weird ass stuff, like I'll pump like thirty rounds into a guy's torso with the heavy machine gun, just for him to turn around and shoot me once in the leg and die, random shit like that. - Maximum Vision is useless, it doesn't actually work.
My experience so far: PUNCHING, PUNCHING EVERYWHERE :gonk:
Wait, Armor mode constantly drains energy now? What's the default mode then?
Wait, Armor mode constantly drains energy now? What's the default mode then?
no armor only drains when getting shot, punching, sprinting, and shooting. Not sure about shooting can't remember and to lazy to check.
The screen effect for Maximum Armour has put me off using it.
no armor only drains when getting shot, punching, sprinting, and shooting. Not sure about shooting can't remember and to lazy to check.
No, armor mode definitely drains you.
I dont see what everyones complaining about. Im loving this.
The main mode is Power Mode. Armor Mode+Cloak drains power over time. Nano vision isn't exactly useless, I use it all the time and it helps.
No, armor mode definitely drains you.
Never noticed, then again Im always being shot at and cant be assed to look at my HUD.
